The Democratic Republic of Santa Catalina more commonly known as Santa Catalina, is a micronation in Galicia, Spain, it's divided in 6 states, And it was established in 2021, in one class of the CEIP Couceiro Freijomil.
After the elections of 2023, the Democratic Party won with an overwhelming majority, since then His Excellency is the President.
Although no micronation recognizes Santa Catalina, international support is being sought.
Etymology
It owes its name to the fact that, in the southern part of the country, there is a monastery, called Monasterio de Santa Catalina de Montefaro, His Excellency, and Founder of the Nation, visited the place, and liked it so much, that he chose the name of Santa Catalina for the country.
History
Foundation of the Country and First Government of the Nation.
The country appeared for the first time in December 2021, in a small portion of a class of CEIP Couceiro Freijomil, then, as His Excellency had visited the monastery of Santa Catalina de Montefaro, the name was left in the country. After several meetings among the founders of the nation, the First Government of the Nation was formed on January 12, 2022.
Second Government of the Nation.
Some time later, the then president resigned, leaving the Minister of the Presidency, and Vice President took office, forming the Second Government of the Nation. Many people left the government, and with the last remnants of the government it was decided to hold elections.
Third Government of the Nation.
After the elections, the DPSC won with an absolute majority, and His Excellency took over the government. He was able to reunite the government, get several members to return. Then it was decided to expand the country to other places, such as social networks, and also reclaim more territory.
Politics and government
Head of state/President
The functions of this position are to reject and pass laws, dissolve the government, manage the army over the Minister of National Security, dismiss members of the government, dissolve the Parliament indefinitely and ban parties.
Vice President
He has the same powers as the Head of State, although all his decisions must be approved by the Head of State.
National Council
Formed by the Ministers, Vice President and the President, it has the power to dissolve the Government, with the difference that it cannot give all power to the Head of State, but will have to form an interim government that can only last a total of 6 months. Moreover, it can only do so if the President dies or resigns. Finally, he can be used as an assistant to the President in times of national emergency. (Not to be confused with the National Legislative Council).
Legislature
National Legislative Council
Formed by 10 deputies, it is in charge of creating, modifying, and denying laws, it is also in charge of the President's investiture, it can issue emergency decrees with the support of the President or the National Council.
Political parties
Democratic Party of Santa Catalina.
It was the first and only party created in the history of the nation. Created by the last remnants of the Second Government of the Nation, it won all the seats in the general elections of 2023.

The Ministry of Culture and Education, is responsible for preserving and promoting the national culture, controls what is taught in schools and is also in charge of developing the Catalinese language. It was created on May 8, 2024 because of the need to develop a national language.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for establishing diplomatic relations with other micronations, and is also in charge of social networks and making Santa Catalina known to the world. It was created on March 12, 2022 due to the need to establish diplomatic relations with other countries.
Ministry of the Interior
The Ministry of the Interior, which is responsible for controlling the national territory, is also in charge of Tourism, Agriculture/Fishing/Livestock, the development of technology, or for example Public Transportation. It is the most important Ministry of all. It was created on January 13, 2022 because of the need to manage all these aspects of daily life.
