The Democratic Republic of Saaleberg, more commonly known as Saaleberg, is a micronation in Hof, Germany. It was founded in October 2024 by three persons.
Etymology
The name "Saaleberg" is made up of the german words "Saale" and "Berg". "Saale" is the river on which the state partly borders and "Berg" means mountain, the mountain in question is the mountain "Teufelsberg" lying on the national territory.
History
As mentioned earlier the Democratic Republic of Saaleberg was founded on the 13 October 2024 by three persons, just one day later there where 11 citzens. At 16 October the first cabinet was constituted. The constitution was ratified on the 26 October 2024. Senate President and Chairman of the MDPD Anton D. announced on the 11 November 2024 that they wanted to have a neutral non-party government by the next election (25 November - 02 December 2024), in the course of which President Dean S. dismissed the incumbent cabinet under Ariel D. the President himself also resigned, the following day Richard K. became President, the Senate, provisionally consisting of the three founders, elected Ariel D. as the new Senate President, a new cabinet was formed on 13 November 2024 under Dleer G..

Saaleberg is a parliamentary democracy.
President
De jure the President is the supreme executive power, de facto the Minister of State has more powers. The President has the following powers:
- supreme command of the Army
- arange for new elections of the Senate
- swearing in of the government
- dismiss the government
- apoint 1/3 Judges of the "Grundgericht".
