The Democratic Republic of Mormont, more commonly known as Mormont, is a micronation in the United States of America, Mormont was founded as a political protest to corruption and partisan politics. Mormont was founded on 6 June 2023, after the Proclamation of the Democratic Republic, which had started being written the night prior. The Proclamation had a Declaration of Independence and the Draft:Second Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Mormont.

Mormont's style of government is inspired by the Republic of Molossia's benevolent dictatorship. In the constitution, the citizenry of Mormont is promised the right to vote for members of the Congress and Senate, the sole legislative body and a Vice President who acts as a tiebreaker and is President of the Senate and Congress.

Etymology

Mormont's name came from a West European town name generator, as the Founder couldn't come up with many ideas. One thing is for certain, however: Despite being a fictional name otherwise, the name may be of Swiss origin.

History

Independence was unilaterally declared on 6 June 2023 after the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were officiated. A new constitution was put into force on 8 June 2023.

Politics and government

Despite being a primarily virtual nation, the Republic of Mormont has physical land claims in a bedroom and a living room. The capital is called Malton.

The President

The Head of State of the Republic of Mormont is the President. The President holds almost all of the power, he may appoint officers of the military, direct projects, declare war, sign treaties, dismiss military officers, appoint chief justices, create new government departments, negotiate trade deals and form alliances.

Head of Government

The Vice President is the Head of Government, meaning the VP shall call meetings of the Congress and Senate, propose bills, recommend that new departments be created, recommend an economic plan (when convening with Congress) and lastly, implement or recommend amendments to the constitution or the law.

Legislature

The Congress shall be the sole legislative branch in the Democratic Republic of Mormont.

The duties of the Comgress shall be to vote on, veto, propose or dismiss laws or bills, (with approval from the Senate) assess government policies and their effectiveness, and also to ratify international treaties, the creation of a province, and other matters having to do with the welfare of the nation.

Senate

The Senate, on the other hand is responsible for appointing local and federal judges, hold elections for both houses, deliver jail sentences for criminals, and sign bills into law or veto them (after it has passed through Congress).

Political parties

In the Democratic Republic of Mormont, all political parties are banned.

Law and order

The law enforcement agencies shall be those who protect the citizens and tourists alike from all threats, foreign and domestic.

Military

The military in Mormont shall be known as the Mormonter Armed Forces.

Departments

Mormont does not have the typical "Ministeries", but instead we have departments that are created to enhance the nation's economy, security, economy, and overall quality of life.

Department of State Security

The Department of State Secueity (otherwise abbreviated as [DOSS] shall be responsible for ensuring the safety of our nation by performing acts of espionage and information extraction.

Department of Gainful Employment

The Department of Gainful Employment, otherwise abbreviated as [DOGE], helps people find jobs and make a living.

Department of Naturalization

The Department of Naturalization will be the department that approves visa requests and citizenship requests.

Foreign Relations

We currently do not hold any diplomatic relations with any other micronation.

Geography and climate

An accurate description of the climate surrounding Mormont.

The climate of Mormont is very diverse, extremely cold winters, hot and humid summers, mild tempatures in the fall and cool during the spring season.

The terrain, too is very diverse, bluffs and flatlands are common to see.

Due to recent Independence, the economy is nearly nonexistent. The currency of the Republic of Mormont is the USD.
