Law and order
The highest judicial authority in the Democratic Republic of Kinda is the Supreme Court. The judicial system of the country is based upon the priciples of common law. There are 3 types of courts in the Democratic Republic of Kinda that follow a hierarchy:
- Supreme Court
- Appellate courts
- Lower courts
The Ministry of Internal Defence is tasked with upholding the law of the Democratic Republic of Kinda and to fight internal threats.
Foreign relations
The Democratic Republic of Kinda has established several diplomatic contacts with different micronations, especially from one of the Russian micronations organisations - the Union of Virtual Nations. The DRK is one of the co-founders of the Organisation of the International Protection Treaty (OIPT), a member of the Asian Economic League and a part of a Union State between the Democratic Republic of Kinda and the Country of Reality, commonly known as Yeonmaengguk (Korean: 연맹국, lit. confederation).
There are currently no sanctions imposed by the Democratic Republic of Kinda. In mid-2022, The Minister of Foreign Affairs Respected Comrade Park Kyung-Sun pardoned all the sanctions that were ever imposed by Kinda ana Malta. The DRK maintains warm relations with most of its neighbours and tries to hold a neutral position when it comes to countries outside of Asia. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Respected Comrade Park Kyung-sun described this policy as "half-neutral". The Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds a strong position that Asia should have its own path and that no foreign country should intervene in Asian politics.
Military
The Kindan People’s Army is an official military of the Democratic Republic of Kinda. Since the modern state of Kinda and Malta has been established as a result of a military liberation, the army plays a major role in the modern Democratic Republic of Kinda.
The KPA was established in early September following a meeting between the leaders of the two most powerful people’s divisions opposing the occupation of Kinda and Malta by an imperial regime – Respected Comrade Frolov Nikita and Respected Comrade Kim Jong-Un.
Although it is not mandatory to join the KPA and there is no military conscription, it is very hard to get a well-paying job without prior army experience, since the Kindan People’s Army is highly respected among the population. Experts estimate that the Kindan People’s Army includes approximately 5% of the population, although there are no official statistics on this matter.

Korean is the main language of the Kindan People's Army, hence all the official titles are in Korean. However, there are some Chinese speaking and Japanese speaking divisions.
The official anthem of the Kindan People's Army is a song Footsteps of Soldiers (Korean: 병사의 발자욱).
Etymology
Both names Kinda and Malta mostly are used to refer to the geographical area, but the demonyms Kindan and Maltian can be used to talk about the inhabitants of the geographical area. Kinda, for example, is a very diverse area with Chinese, Korean and Japanese people living together, whilst Malta is primarily Korean.
Kinda
The modern writing for the name Kinda is 勤达 (Qíndá) which means "to reach diligence" if translated directly.
Some historians believe that the name Kinda comes from the Mandarin Chinese word 金大 (jīndà) which means "big wealth". They say it originates from the fact that the lands of Kinda were considered valuable in terms of their geographical location. So the word 金 (jīn) (lit. "gold") is said to be used to underline the importance of the region.
Another theory suggests that the name of Kinda might have come from the name for Khitan people - 契丹 (qìdān), which inhabited the area during the Liao period of Kindan history.
Malta
The name Malta comes from the Korean word 말다 (malda) which means "to roll up". Malta is an exonym for Korea used in Kinda.
The origins of the name are still debated. Some historians say that the name may be connected to a traditional way of packing goods by rolling them up in fabric. Others say that the name may be connected to some traditional dishes of Malta and the way of serving them - rolled up.
History
The Great Liberation war
The Great Liberation War was a pivotal episode in the contemporary history of Kinda and Malta, that transpired following a military coup in Malta. The coup resulted in the establishment of the Empire of Malta, a militaristic and fascist regime with the army leader assuming the title of Emperor. This abrupt political shift severed communication channels between Malta and the Republic of Kinda, which had previously maintained close integration, relaxed foreign policies, and engaged in free trade. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kinda attempted to establish communication with the newly formed Empire of Malta, but these efforts proved futile. It became evident that Malta was already planning something, marking a departure from their prior amicable relations.
Declaration of War
On June 25, 2011, the Empire of Malta officially declared war on the Republic of Kinda. Unprepared for such aggression, Kinda began a strategic retreat in an effort to gain a tactical advantage. The forces of the Empire of Malta, on June 28, captured Dandong, the capital of Kinda, and initiated the establishment of the so-called "correction camps" in rural areas, where non-Maltian individuals were subjected to torture, resulting in numerous casualties. Under the directive of the Emperor of Malta, a command was issued to eradicate all traces of Kindan culture. This led to widespread destruction, including the burning of books, houses, and even individuals. As the forces of the Empire advanced, the Kindan Army found itself retreating towards the Liao River.
Formation of the Kindan People's Army
Amidst the dire circumstances, a significant turning point occurred in early September when leaders of the two major resistance groups, the divisions of Frolov Nikita from Kinda and Kim Jeong-eun from Malta, held a meeting at the foot of Mount Paektu. The two leaders agreed to join their forces and establish the Kindan People's Army (KPA), a united front against the oppressive regime. The KPA garnered increasing support as various people's divisions joined the alliance, presenting a challenge to the Empire of Malta, which was primarily focused on offensive actions rather than internal defence.
Unification of forces
After considerable struggle, the KPA successfully surrounded and defeated the Empire of Malta's forces concentrated in the north. The representatives of the Kindan People's Army and the official Army of Kinda held a meeting, once again at the foot of Mount Paektu. By that time, Kinda had no functioning government, the president had been kidnapped by the Empire of Malta, so the armies decided to unite their forces under the Kindan People's Army.
Liberation of Kinda and Malta
With the defeat of the enemy's offensive, the united Kindan People's Army embarked on a liberating campaign, reclaiming territory village by village, city by city, and region by region. On January 15, 2015, the Kindan People's Army entered Pyongyang and overthrew the rule of the Empire of Malta, fulfilling the collective desire of both Kindan and Maltian people. Subsequently, the Democratic Republic of Kinda was proclaimed as a federal union state, incorporating the values of both countries.
In the aftermath, many Kindans sought refuge on the island of Kyushu, historically connected to Kinda and Malta. The notion of a union state extended to include Kyushu, solidifying the bond between the regions.
Geography
The Democratic Republic of Kinda is characterised by a topography mainly consisting of hills and mountains separated by deep valleys. Coastal plains are expansive in the west and sporadic in the east of the mainland.
Paektu Mountain, the highest point at 2,743 metres (8,999 ft), is a volcanic mountain near Manchuria with a basalt lava plateau having elevations between 1,400 metres (4,600 ft) and 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) above sea level. The Hamgyong Range, situated in the extreme northeastern part of the peninsula, features several high peaks, with Kwanmobong standing at approximately 2,541 metres (8,337 ft).
On Kyushu island, Mount Aso is the highest point, reaching 1,592 metres (5,223 ft). It is the largest active volcano in the country and ranks among the world's largest.
Climate
The Democratic Republic of Kinda experiences a combination of continental and oceanic climates, with a prevalent humid continental climate according to the Köppen climate classification.
Winters are characterised by clear weather and occasional snowstorms due to northern and northwestern winds from Siberia. Summers are the hottest, most humid, and rainiest periods, influenced by southern and southeastern monsoon winds carrying moist air from the Pacific Ocean. Approximately 60 per cent of all precipitation occurs from June to September, with spring and autumn serving as transitional seasons between summer and winter.

Culture and media
The strategic focus of the Empire of Malta on Kindan cultural heritage sites during the Great Liberation War had significant consequences, impacting the cultural landscape of Kinda. The purposeful destruction of historical monuments and landmarks, while driven by territorial considerations, also aimed to influence Kindan identity. The "correction camps," established as part of the Empire of Malta's campaign, were not only symbols of authority but also witnessed substantial cultural loss. Many of these camps were strategically positioned in areas of historical importance, resulting in the destruction of ancient artefacts, archives, and structures that had long been part of Kindan heritage.
The chaotic circumstances of war, combined with intentional targeting, resulted in the loss of cultural artefacts that represented the history and traditions of the Kindan people. Libraries with manuscripts, museums housing artworks, and religious sites with centuries-old relics were affected, contributing to a decrease in the cultural wealth of the region.
Titles
One of the desctinct aspects of Kindan and Maltian culture are the titles. Every citizen and resident of The Democratic Republic of Kinda has a title that follows a specific structure.
Governmental title | Party title | Military title | Veteran title | Personal title | Name |
---|---|---|---|---|---|

Minister of Foreign Affairs | Member of the Central Cometee of the Workers' Party of Kinda | Respected Comrade | Park Kyung-sun | ||
Main Secretary of the President | Member of the Workers' Party of Kinda | Comrade | Volohov Alexander |
Every citizen and resident has a title of "Comrade", and can be assigned a title of "Respected Comrade" by the Parlament for merits before the country.
Kinda and Malta Intranet
The government of the Democratic Republic of Kinda uses an internal computer network called Kinda and Malta Intranet (KMIN) for its operation. It uses a slightly modified version of the HTTP protocol to include the user's government ID as well as other personal information. KMIN was originally designed for solely governmental use, but later a public instance was created where any citizen and resident can upload their page by contacting the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
All the edits on KMIN are saved in a database, from where they can be easily restored in case of a sabotage. Kinda and Malta Intranet utilises cryptographic signatures (internally known as "seals") that have to be issued by the page's editor as well as any other necessary authority to prevent unsanctioned edits and uphold the integrity of the page's data.
Users on Kinda and Malta Intranet can be associated with different groups that determine the level of access the user has to certain pages. In order to access most of KMIN you need to have a government-issued ID. Some pages on Kinda and Malta Intranet allow guest access by adding a "KMIN/Guest" user to their page.
