Flags

Unlike other Micronations Democracy of Michigania has two official Flags. Both are flown by the government, and both have the same laws around them. You are never allowed to deface either flag in any manner. If you deface the flags it can result in a prison sentence!

Michigania has one official Coat of arms that is a combination between both national flags.

Etymology

Democracy of Michigania's Name comes from a few different sources. The Democracy comes from the government elections that happen every decade to elect a new president. The Michigania part comes from our location as we are located inside the state of Michigan inside of the United States of America.

History

The Democracy of Michigania gained independence from the United States of America on January 18th, 2024, the exact time unknown. In the beginning of the nation, Michigania only controlled one small building that was soon to become the capital. Eventually Michigania made an ally with the micronations of Vesnela, and New German Empire (NGE) through online relations. As the days passed our ally NGE went to war with a fellow micronation, and started Micro War 1 (MW1), a war that Michigania looks back on with sorrow as it is the last war NGE was in. After the war Michigania made an alliance with Fallow Fang and gained more land. After a little bit of silence, the Democracy of Michigania and Dutchy of Fallonia made an alliance. Shortly after this the Mannish-Michigania conflict began between the Northern Powers (Michigania and Fallonia) and the Mannish Empire. However, the conflict only lasted a day due to both sides not wanting to go to war over ideology and both sides evidently became allies with each other. Shortly after this the Fallonia civil wars happened, however Michigania did not get too involved in them. This all leads up to modern day where Michigania is a thriving micronation with lots of land and many provinces.

Politics and government

Michigania's Government is made up of a few parts. We are a Democratic Military Dictatorship with Capitalistic Ideas. The only part of Michigania that has Democracy is the presidential elections. Every Decade an Election is held between the current president and the high-ranking government/military officials. The people then get to vote on who will be the next president. People also get to open their own private businesses but must pay a tax depending on their revenue. Everything else in our government is controlled by the military and high-ranking generals.

Early government

Michigania's government type was not completely figured out until very recently as the Ideology is a Hybrid of Democracy and Military Dictatorship.

The president of Michigania has to be a government/military official, private candidates or citizens can't run. The President has overall rule over the nation but has to talk with the rest of the government if he wants to change or add anything to Michigania.

{Generals and Government}

The higher your rank in the military, the higher say you have in the government. For example, if you are a Climate of the Michigania army, you have little to no say in the government. However, if you are in a position like General Staff 3, you have a lot of control over the government and laws. Everything government officials decide has to go through the president and everything the president decides has to go through the government.

Political parties

When Presidential Elections come around each person running picks an ideology to run with, this system acts like our political parties. Once someone gets elected, the ideology they ran with becomes the ideology of the nation. The president and government are allowed to change the ideology after a president is elected.

Law Enforcment

Our law enforcement is called MP or military police. The Police unlike other nations is a branch of our military, they enforce laws on Michiganian land, and they protect high rank government officials and generals.

Military

Our Military is highly trained and equipped with the best gear we can get our hands on. That being said the weaponry is a little outdated.

E.L.I.T.E.

The Elite Corps (E.L.I.T.E.) is a branch of highly trained soldiers, one from each force. The only person in the Elite Corps so far is the President.

Governers

Governers were put in place over all of Michigania's Provinces to ensure safety and make sure no civil wars break out. Governers are allowed to make their own laws and rules under the umbrella of the nation's overall laws and regulations. They also control taxes.

Formerly recognized

The Democracy of Michigania still recognizes NGE as a real Nation, if the Micronation still exists. There is not much closure of what happened or is going on with NGE, so we formerly recognized him, until he comes out and states he is still around.

Administrative regions

Michigania has five provinces and two regions. Each province has a governor (one person can govern over many provinces) and the president governs over the province that holds the capital building. Each province has their own version of the Michigania laws and own amount of taxes set by the governors. The Regions do not have anything special to cover as they are just to organize the provinces.

Geography and climate

Michigania is located in the Southeast part of the Michigan peninsula. The nation is surrounded, and populated by mostly trees and forest but there is a river close by our land. In the winter the temperatures can drop below -5 degrease Ferin height and, in the summer, it can get up to 90 degrees Feren height.

Economy

Our Economic Imports Mostly consist of money donations wood and cardboard. Our main export is wood and wooden items. The wood we get can vary from 1 Pint to 200 Pints worth and the wood exported has the same values. The wood imported either goes to building projects by the government or to the wood furnace, to heat our buildings. Another main income bringer is YouTube revenue as it gives the government some extra money to use. Art is also Exported from time to time but not often.

Culture

Michigania has many holidays celebrated (listed below) and also many cultural details. Michigania's two official languages are English and German, and its official Religion is Lutheran Christianity. The current president has an appreciation for art and makes art of his own, from paintings to sketches to abstract to cardboard.
