Bayt al-malik, formerly and colloquially referred to as Tahir, is the 2nd largest and most densely populated province of Kaliqan.

It is located in south-western Germany, specifically in the Bad Dürkheim Landkreis, Rheinland Palatinate, and is mostly made up of white grape vineyards.

Etymology

The name "Bayt al-malik" comes from the romanization of the Arabic term "بيت الملك', which means "the house of the king", as it is where the King of Kaliqan resides. The former and colloquially used name "Tahir" comes from the Arabic word for pure.

History

Bayt al-malik is one of the two first provinces of Kaliqan, and has been one of the most crucial provinces of Kaliqan.

Bayt al-malik is where the nation of Kaliqan was first conceived of when the founder of Kaliqan was removed from his high ranking position in another micronation due to accusations of him plotting a coup. Most of the most important decisions and commands were made in Bayt al-malik, including the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the recognition of the break-away state of Elias, the joining and leaving the obsidian pact, the joining and leaving of the Red Leaf Union, the declaration of an espionage-war, also called the "Cold War", against Crovolia, and the diplomatic support of Zeprana in the Zeprano-Elarian War.

During the Cold War against Crovolia, Kaliqan gave a small piece of Bayt al-malik to the Empire of Shahawkia, called "New Kvlu", however after the end of the conflict, Shahawkia retreated from New Kvlu.

Bayt al-malik is where the Kaliqanist ideology was founded and also houses the Kaliqani National Mint.

Politics and government

Like the other 2 provinces of Kaliqan, Bayt al-malik is ruled by a king who may make laws that only apply to the province with the monarch of Kaliqan's permission.

Formerly, the province was ruled by a minister appointed by the monarch, however this minister had little to no power, and so this was changed.

Geography and climate

Bayt al-malik has very hot summers and mildly cold winters and with an elevation of 1140.78ft[1] and an average annual precipitation of 0.4in[2].

It is also home to an abandoned white grape producing vineyard.
