The Alwati Civil war, also known as the "Great Caliphate war" or the "war of the commune and caliph" was a pre- Sultanate conflict between the Caliphate of Norway led by Mohammod I and Communist Rebels led by Chairman Adrian. The war was mostly fought by Mohammod mountain and the Caliphate launching the attacks. The war may only be a footnote in the history books, but many remember it as a very important moment in Alwati History. This war is also one of the reasons why Mohammod I hates communism so much.
Prelude
There was opposition in the Caliphate ever since it began, mostly due to the Iconic State of inactivity. One citizen, Adrian, would become leader of the anti-caliphate assocation on the 14th of March and turned it communist. On the 15th, Adrian renamed the Anti-Caliphate assocation to the Commune of Norway. By the 17th, tensions were at an all time high, and almost anything could break it. And one day, it did.
War
On the 21st of March, 2024, The Commune of Norway occupied the land that would become The Emirate of Heshak and Chiefdom of Kwu'Ikewi and declared war on the Caliphate. Just minutes after the declaration of civil war, fighting would begin.
1st battle of Mohammod Mountain
Before the war began, the commune made a tunnel system inside the snow mountain. The battle began when Caliphate forces would charge up against the mountain. This first charge was beaten by the commune rebels throwing Rocks and snowballs, but a second charge would commence, and this one made it into the tunnels. Inside the tunnels, the commune and caliphate forces would fight with Akuybs. After about 3 Commune forces were captured by the caliph's army, the Chairman himself kicked the Caliphate army out, ending the battle. It was a caliphate victory.
2nd battle of Mohammod Mountain
The second battle began the day after the first one. This battle began when 2 commune forces charged towards the palace, hoping to be able to realease their comerades. This charge was defeated when rocks were thrown at the 2 soldiers, with one of them being injured and captured by the caliphate janissaries. The caliph then ordered a charge with his full army on Mohammod mountain. The caliphate forces stormed the tunnels easily, and then caved in the tunnels, burrying a commune soldier's leg under snow. He was also captured. When the chairman realized that he might get sendt to Alwati Jail, he surrendered the remaining forces, ending the war. Once again a caliphate victory
Treaty of saint David
The Treaty of saint david was drafted, stating that Adrian would loose his citizenship and the commune would be dissolved and annexed. It may be harsh, but He had no choice but to sign it. When the Caliph announced their victory, the caliphate would remain quite inactive and Jihadist, but now people are no longer willing to conspirate against the caliph.
Equipment
The regular soldiers of the caliphate usually had civillian clothing with a shemagh, folded in sleeves and wieled an Akuyb, an Alwati sword like weapon. The Janissaries had higher quality weapons and gear and had their own Janissary Shemagh and uniform. The Caliph had what the Janisarries had, but also had a more noble uniform, best weapons in the lands and a Fez. The Caliphate's forces used makeshift catapults to destroy Communard defenses. The militia of the Commune had the same gear as the regulars of the Caliphate, but didn't have the Shemagh due to it being a symbol of loyalty to Mohammod I and instead had a small turban with a Communist star on it.
