The Dairaji Federation, for short Dairajistan is a country, often referred to as a micronation, in the Shatt al-Yuhanna river basin, surrounded on the east, south and west by the United States and to the north along a formerly-disputed border with Scynja.

History

Foundation

Eskandarabad

Eskandarabad was founded on 1 November, 2022, by Hasan and Ali Farrokhzad, and Hasan was appointed Sultan of Eskandarabad. On 5 November, Ali founded the Ansawan militia, officially as a front for Dairaji nationalism and Anti-Scynnism, but on 6 November, Ansawan overthrew Sultan Hasan, who fled north to found Ashiredarya.

On 14 November, 2022, Sultan Ali abolished the monarchy and became the second tribe to elect a Grand Vizier.

Eskandarabad has a population of 5.

Shiraz

Shiraz was the second clan to be established, by Darius Shirazi, on 3 November. Shirazi left Eskandarabad in hopes of establishing a new clan, and then founded Shiraz soon after. Shiraz, as the most centrally-located clan in Dairajistan, has often acted as an intermediator between the other clans, such as calling for the Treaty of Rudkhaneshah.

Shiraz has a population of 4.

Nahremasih

Nahremasih was founded on 5 November as Rudkhaneshah, after a Eskandari expedition to the south discovered land, and sponsored Colonel Iskander Khan to lead a colony there, which on 7 November was granted independence as the Republic of Rudkhaneshah. Rudkhaneshah offered military assistance to the Ansawan militia during the Eskandarabad coup, despite being the only predominantly-Christian vilayet.

The city merged with Eskandarabad to form the South Dairaji Republic in late November. On 9 December, the city was renamed to Nahremasih due to the the Treaty of Shiraz.

Nahremasih has a population of 6, making it the largest Dairaji vilayet.

Ashiredarya

After the 6 November coup d’état, the Shirazi military assisted Hasan Farrokhzad in escaping, and gave him former Shirazi-claimed lands to the north to establish Ashiredarya. Ashiredarya has since been at odds with Eskandarabad, but was able to compromise at the Treaty of Rudkhaneshah.

Ashiredarya has a population of 2.

Treaty of Rudkhaneshah

The four clans came together with the Treaty of Rudkhaneshah on 8 November, 2022, to counter the influence of Scynja in the River Basin, despite the tension between the Eskandari and Ashiri delegations.

The Treaty designated Shiraz as the first among equals and peacekeeper between all four clans, confirmed the full independence of all Dairaji states, delegated zones of control to the roads that connect the four states, and affirmed the unity of the Dairaji states against Scynja.

The Ashiri delegation and Rudkhani delegation had a disagreement over the possibility to declare war, with the Ashiris believing that each state should be permitted to declare war on behalf of the Confederation, and the Rudkhanis believing only the Grand Majlis—the Confederation’s governing body—should be able to declare war. A compromise was reached that each state may declare war, but none of the other states should be obligated to defend them, and militaries of each state would not be interlinked with each other.

The topic of inter-Confederation war was avoided due to the tension between the Ashiri and Eskandari delegations.

Dairaji Fitna

Following the Treaty of Rudkhaneshah’s signing, Ashiri Emir Hasan declared “victory over the Rudkhani and Eskandari contrarians for the sake of Dairajistan as a whole.” The Majlis of Rudkhaneshah responded by issuing an ultimatum to Ashiredarya, requesting the resignation of Emir Hasan in favour of his heir-apparent, Hazqiyal Ashiri, the disarmament of the Ashiri military, or the introduction of a constitution and legislature to diminish the power of the Emir, or else the Rudkhani military would take control of the Ashiri Road Zones, effectively cutting off Ashiredarya from the rest of Dairajistan. Emir Hasan rejected the ultimatum, and in turn declared war on Rudkhaneshah. Rudkhaneshah, Ashiredarya, and Eskandarabad then began to mobilise.

The next day, Eskandari diplomats were able to broker peace between the two, and no fighting occurred.

South Dairaji Republic

On 22 November, the Grand Viziers of Eskandarabad and Rudkhaneshah signed the Solomon Agreement, which merged the two states into one, the South Dairaji Republic, led by Grand Vizier Ali Farrokhzad, and with its capital in Eskandarabad. Emir Hasan called the new Republic a “threat to Dairaji unity.”

Treaty of Shiraz

On 5 December, 2022, Ali Farrokhzad announced the Treaty of Shiraz, which would unify the Confederation into one state. The treaty will take place on 9 December. The Treaty notably claims the majority of the Scynn-controlled area of the Shatt al-Shabab basin for Dairajistan.

2023 military memorandum

On 7 January, 2023, Ansawan issued a military memorandum issuing the removal of the Grand Vizier, all members of the Grand Shura, all members of the Grand Majlis, and all Kaimakams, excluding Rayis al-Dawla Ali Farrokhzad. Farrokhzad then former the National Security Council, for the purposes of “keep[ing] order in Dairajistan, represent the state in foreign relations, and prevent invasion from northern states.” Farrokhzad leads the council.

Qardashi Annexation

On June 12, 2023, after negotiation with the Islamic Sultanate of Qardasha, Dairajistan joined the Qardaishan Empire as a vassal state. All immediate powers were transferred to the new emperor, Orzan bin Muhammad, and Ali Farrokhzad was made the Wali or Military Governor of the nation. This made Qardashi an official language of the nation, and also allowed the nation to join the Qardashi League, officially assimilating into the Qardashi World.

Second independence

On 28 December, Wali Farrokhzad submitted a request to Sultan Orzan for Dairajistan to re-establish independence, which was approved. Ansawan reclaimed control of the territory, and through military decree, Farrokhzad was announced Agha Ghazi of the Dairaji Federation.

Culture

Food and Drink

Dairaji cuisine is an eclectic mix of American food from the surrounding United States and Cape Malay and Pakistani foods.

Dairajistan has a very developed tea culture, with the most popular drinks being masala chai and rooibos. Due to the undeveloped nature and landscape, tea is often carried and drank in thermoses instead of tea cups and often drank with beskuit rusks. The usage of small-to-medium sized teacups is also not uncommon.

Popular foods include jerky, curry, sambals, and basmati rice dishes.

Religion

The predominant religion in Dairajistan is Islam, consisting of primarily Ithna’ashari Shi'as with some Sunnis. There is a large Christian community centred around Nahremasih vilayet in the south and southwest of the country. Islam is the official religion of Dairajistan. Regardless, Dairajistan is a nominally secular state due to the confluence of so many religions.

Sport

Ice hockey and Association football are regarded as the two most popular sports in Dairajistan.

Football is generally regarded as the national sport of Dairajistan, with many citizens and residents being fans and recreational players. There is no Qardasha Pro League club located in Dairajistan but citizens are mostly fans of the club Azadi Islambol. Locals are fans of MLS clubs Inter Miami or Orlando City, and often support European football clubs as well.

Ice hockey is sport more common with the American population around Dairajistan. A former MHL franchise was located in Eskandarabad, the Eskandarabad Sultans, however it terminated its operations following the January-February 2023 season. Street hockey is also recreationally played by some citizens, but is typically only played in scratch games. Locals tend to be fans of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, or Washington Capitals.

Other sports played in Dairajistan include Tennis, Pickleball, and Cricket
