Goals
The DSPBT is a Democratic Socialist party which advocates for a democratic socialist political system and a market socialist economic system. The party advocates social democratic policies as facilitating the long-term transition from capitalism to socialism. The party supports the nationalization of key national industries, primarily the energy sector and the railway sector, increased government regulation of business to ensure workers are treated fairly, and that companies go green, a progressive tax system, a socialized healthcare system, tariffs on most goods imported into the country (with exceptions for basic necessities such as food and water), democratization of the workplace, a form of universal basic income, a transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, and a non-interventionist, pro-democracy foreign policy. The DSPBT also advocates human rights as being central to their foreign policy initiatives. The DSPBT is a left-wing political party. The party flatly rejects authoritarianism, Marxism-Leninism, and a Soviet-style planned economy. Party leadership emphasized these positions in response to numerous deceptive political attacks by the Christian Democratic Libertarian Party. These attacks falsely referred to the party as "communist" and "supportive of dictatorships in China, Venezuela, and Cuba". The DSPBT also objects to the labeling of the Progressive Socialist-Capitalist Party as "socialist", citing the party's unwillingness to transition from capitalism to socialism.
Attempted Coalition
The Democratic Socialist Party of Bir Tawil attempted to form a coalition with the Christian Democratic Libertarian Party to form the Tawilian United Front. However, the NURP members declined membership to The Tawilian United Front. In previous days, the DSPBT attempts to gain allies by promising workers' rights, single-payer healthcare, and increased equality among the people. The DSPBT ultimately withdrew from the coalition, citing that it stood in the way of a united Bir Tawil and conflicted with party interests.
