"The Cycoldian Crisis" movie, also known as "saikoldian crisis" is a movie produced by the Emersonian Bureau of Media and released on 7 March 2022. It depicts the events of the Cycoldian-Emersonian conflict from 2018-2019, in a highly simplified and abridged way.

It is a parody of "Garfielf" by PilotRedSun and "American Independence War In A Nutshell" by Kaliningrad General.

It can be watched here.

Production

The movie was created in 5 hours, spread out across 2 days. The frames of the movie were created in Paint and paint dot net. The audio has been sourced from a text-to-speech software, with it being recorded using OBS and edited in Audacity. The animation style is meant to depict the poorly-drawn scenes from the Garfielf video, which this video is a parody of.

The editing was done in Windows Movie Maker.

Release

The video was released on 7 March 2022 on the Emersonian President's second YouTube channel.

Synopsis

The movie begins with a shot of Cycoldiaball, scoffing at Emersonia ball for "being annoying as usual", to which Emersoniaball replies that they're just trying to have a good micronation. Cycoldiaball calls them "foolish and stupid, why are you so stupid", to which Emersoniaball replies, yet again, in a monotone voice, "I am being based, Cycoldia. It's what I do," This part is meant to reference the overusage of the word "Based" in Emersonian culture.

The screen then cuts, presumably into the near future, to a scene where Emersoniaball is trying to interdict Japanese Anime films from being broadcasted within the now-defunct League of Micronations (LoMN), referencing the way that Cycoldian-Emersonian tensions broke. Cycoldiaball tries to warn Emersoniaball of the consequences, but Emersoniaball smashes the on-screen Anime "cat-woman" with a hammer with the text "BAN" on it. Upon seeing the damage done, Cycoldiaball screams in terror.

The screen then cuts, yet again, to Emersoniaball sitting with Nottingham-Stinocolusball, a now defunct micronation, at a negotiation table, with an alliance treaty being shown on the table. Emersoniaball affirms that they are a micronation which loves peace, taking shots at Cycoldia yet again. Because of this alliance deal, Cycoldiaball interferes, calling Emersoniaball a betrayer.

Suddenly, the screen cuts to another scene. Emersoniaball is seen launching a miniature, presumably a model, ICBM towards a Discord message of the Firefly Kingdom leader saying that "[Emersonia]'s memes aren't funny,". Emersoniaball says nothing except "I hate the Firefly Kingdom."

A little later, Emersoniaball affirms that they are angry with the current actions of Cycoldiaball, and demands a war. In this scene, Emersoniaball is seen dreaming about how Cycoldiaball is shot using an Emersonianball tank. The tank, strangely, has the "Z" symbol on it, seen on the tanks in the 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine, suggesting that Emersoniaball stole an abandoned Russiaball tank for its own purposes and forgot to remove the Z, making fun of the Romanian stereotype that "all Romanians are Gypsies and they steal[1]". This theory is further confirmed by the other tanks shown in the movie, which also have the Z painted on them.[2]

Cycoldiaball then warns Emersoniaball that they are "triggering [Cycoldiaball] out of Microwiki and Micronations Fandom". This is referencing the time when the conflict almost ended in Cycoldia's page being removed from those two websites. Emersoniaball, strangely, ignores Cycoldiaball's warning: "Enough with the Chit Chat, let's get some war goin'."

A screen which says "WAR TIME..." is shown for a brief moment. The screen then cuts to Cycoldiaball interrogating Emersoniaball about the war. Cycoldiaball asks Emersoniaball about the missing Cycoldian troops, to which Emersonia replies "I took those roaches." Cycoldiaball then asks about their annexed territory of Wefren. Emersoniaball replies, again, with "I took those roaches." Cycoldiaball, visibly irritated at this point, asks about the whereabouts of the "Glorious beautiful Cycoldian flag". The movie then cuts to a jittering, blurred image of Emersoniaball shooting weapons, visibly victorious, over a heavily bass-boosted version of "The Liberty Bell", Emersonia's national anthem. The image is also accompanied by the words "EMERSONIA, F**K YEAH!", written in blue and red.

The movie ends with a shot of Cycoldiaball, which by this point is very irritated and offended at Emersoniaball's actions, condems Emersoniaball for "Being such a bad micronation/That's it I've had it/That does it/That's the last straw, Emersonia".

Historical Accuracy Details

The movie, although packed with references, does miss out some events and does overlook some.

  • The annexation of Hosamia has not been referenced. The annexation of Wefren was, though, but their name was not told nor shown.
  • The (failed) censorship of Nightly News At Nine, Emersonia's main news outlet, is not referenced.
  • Emersonia's gender-sex different opinion was not mentioned, due to fears that the movie might end up "where it's not supposed to end up". At the time of war, Emersonia's president was unfamiliar with the LGBTQ+ vocabulary and list of terms, and misunderstanding was one of the reasons tensions escalated, with Christina being transgender.
  • The NECSS's findings, which were one of the key reasons that the conflict ended, were not mentioned at all.
  • Cycoldia never sent any military troops, the movie does reference them anyway.
  • Emersonia's alliance with Nottingham-Stinocolus was not officially signed.
  • The impeachment of Cameron I, the leader of the LoMN, was not mentioned. The impeachment led to nations acting improper and informal in the Discord server, and that's where the "weeaboo/Anime infestation" came from. The movie does show Emersonia trying to ban Anime though, a thing which drove tensions higher.
  • The issue of Grandeur Print, the one which led to the declaration of war, was not referenced. Instead, the misspelling of "Emersonia" was referenced multiple times in the film.
