The Chief of the Queensland Air Staff (CQAS) is the professional head of the Royal Queensland Air Force and a member of both the Chiefs of Staff Committee. The post was created in 2015 with Air marshal Sir Thomas Hugh as the first incumbent. The current and 5th Chief of the Air Staff is Air Chief Marshal Sir Alexander Robert Patrick, who succeeded Sir James Edward in April 2021.
