The Ceticilian Ecological Union was a Ceticilian political party originally founded in 2020 and restarted in early 2021 running on a platform of green politics, socialism and grassroots democracy and anti-populism. The party was created as a reaction to perceived corruption in the Democratic Socialist Party of Ceticilia (DSP), from which it split. Near the end of Ceticilia (2016-2023), the CEU rejoined the DSP. The CEU published a newspaper regularly titled "The Green Dove".
Structure
Internally, all members were equal and could put proposals up for vote about the structure of the party or the position of the party in governments at any time. The polls were up for 24 hours or until a majority of members have voted in favor or a majority is otherwise secured via the majority not being threatened even if all other members were to vote. The party did not have a leader, though Lily Jane Rotfels and Servilia Corvina spoke on its behalf in Ceticilian politics.
Positions
Environmentalism
Environmentalism was the main tenet of the CEU, with a sizable majority of members being vegetarian or vegan as well as questioning energy and paper usage in Ceticilia.
