Carole, Princess of Sunnhordland, born Carole Dianne on 7 December 1942 is the founder and reigning Princess of the Principality of Sunnhordland.
Early life
Carole was born on 7 December 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Her great-grandparents came to the United States from Sunnhordland in Norway. She had always been proud of her Sunnhordlendinger ancestry, passing on the familial recipes and histories to her children and grandchildren - Crown Prince Joseph and his children.
On 3 December 2020, Her Royal Highness became the Sovereign Princess of Sunnhordland.
Legitimacy & Right to Rule as Sovereign
Though Princess Carole remains a citizen of the United States, her family and Sunnhordland feel as though they have a more legitimate claim to ruling over Sunnhordland than the current and past monarchs of Canada. Her grandmother's family originated in Sunnhordland, and the Princess's DNA results came back as 30% Southern Norwegian. His Majesty The King of Norway descends from German royal families, though not exclusively, and with some DNA ancestry based in Scandinavia. She is likewise descended from the indigenous populations of Norway, and possibly the Sámi people. As an absolute monarch, Princess Carole will have the ability to enter into political interactions, unlike the Constitutional monarch.
