The Bukari Emirate, is a project micronation in Nigeria, it was reformed originally in 2017 by Bukar Abubakar Shareef Ibrahim, who is grandfather of Abubakar Ibrahim I the Emir of Dunjakistan, Bukar created the micronation with Abubakar Ibrahim I due to Abubakar's interest in countries. it has land in two northern states which are Sokoto and Yobe the land claim is two villages which are the birthplaces of the founders. the emirate was intended as a project by Abubakar Ibrahim I in an attempt to show his grandfathers micronation. but he soon decided to take the project more seriously in 2024. the emirate stands as a project more than a serious micronation.

Etymology

Bukari emirate comes from the first emir's name, Bukar, it was named the Bukari Emirate as a tribute to Bukar Abubakar Shareef Ibrahim after his death. the suffix 'i' was added by Abubakar to denote their family name 'Ibrahim', another common name for Bukari emirate is Bukarland.

History

In the late 1980s Bukar Abubakar Shareef Ibrahim began his interest in nations, he began making nations with the help of his friends, he originally created a project called 'Bukar Republic' in his village, Bukar was unsure of Micronationalism at this time, eventually in the early 90s Bukar ended the project due to disinterest, Abubakar began showing an interest in micronationalism during a vacation to visit Bukar with family, Bukar showed Abubakar a book he made about his nation, which led to both of them to start working on it more, they eventually came up with the name Republic of Bukarland, however Abubakar found out about Emirates so he changed the name to the Abubakar Emirate, 2 years later Bukar passed away due to an illness which led to a name change in tribute which became the Bukari Emirate. The Emirate is based in the village of Goduwa in Yobe state which was the birthplace of Bukar he lived there until his death, and Abubakar's birth village in Sokoto.
