Overview of the Kingdom's Orders

History

Orders of Chivalry have always been utilized by the kingfom. Each king has established at least one order upon their coronation. The highest current order in the kingdom is the Royal Order of Alfonso XII, which is the most senior order in the Kingdom as it is the first one ever created.

Membership in the Kingdom's orders is initially intangible. Knights and Dames are simply afforded with honorific dignities such as Excelentísimo Señor (The Most Excellent), and Ilustrísimo Señor (The Most Ilustrious) and a letter signed by the King upon their bestow, as well as its publication on the national BOC (Boletín Oficial de Castilla).
