The April 2022 United States presidential election was the fifth presidential election, held on Friday, April 8th, 2022. The Democratic ticket, former governor of California Diana Fox defeated the Republican ticket, incumbent President Michael R. Trench in a close call election.
Background
Since September 2021, President Michael R. Trench and his far-right Administration had done crackdowns on the pro-democracy movement, the Democratic Furs. The Fur-pocalypse has taken a toll on the economy and the integrity of American civilians. Protests and demonstrations were resulted in brutal takedowns, public executions were held in Washington D.C. to instate fear into the movement. In the span of eight months, the Trench Administration had executed more than 32,000 innocent civilians, including children.
On January 2, 2022, the Democratic California governor, Diana Fox, a pro-democracy member announced to the people of America that she will "take back America for the people" and declared her intention to run as president in opposition against the totalitarian system. Surprisingly, President Michael Trench agreed.

Diana Fox, former Governor of California, became the first female opposition candidate against the current incumbent President and the ruling Republican party. While she is strong in the polls, she faced against independent Democratic Furs Tach Corgi, former California Secretary of State Judy Trussell and former Pennsylvania senator Kyle York.
