The Anglo-Jutish Kingdom of Godcundstæl (Godcundstæl, lit. "Sacred place") was an absolute monarchy located in the British Isles, specifically the part containing the nation of England. Godcundstæl got its "Anglo-Jutish Kingdom" name from the fact that all of its rulers and the entirety of its original population upon founding were descendants of both the Angles and the Jutes who settled the British Isles after the end of Roman rule there.
Etymology
The name "Godcundstæl" comes from the Old English 'Godcund stæl', meaning 'sacred place'.
Government
The head of state was the Sovereign and the head of government was the First Minister. The First Minister acted as head of both the executive branch of government and the legislative one; Godcundstæl's legislature was the Dryhtâspelian (lit. "People represent") which was a unified non-partisan elected assembly made up of 100 Stôwlica (singular "Stôwlic", lit. "Local(s)"), which were locals who were given power over their area by the Sovereign. The primary rule was that a Stôwlic could only rule the area of his birth.
Culture
Godcundstælian culture was extremely traditional and reminiscent of the Anglo-Saxon period in Britain. Local peoples banded together in small villages and settlements, usually of one ethnically homogenous or mostly ethnically homogenous group. The national dish was Roast pork, a known personal favourite of Sovereign Abrecan Aglæca.
Military
The Godcundstælian Armed Forces were split into four branches:
• Godcundstælian Naval Service
• Godcundstælian Special Operations Corps
Rank and Insignia - Ranks and regimental insignia in the armed forces, especially for the Godcundstælian Land Forces were denoted by the colour of the plume on the (ceremonial dress) helmet and/or the beret. It is noteworthy that the regiments never bore their own cap badges - the coat of arms was the only badge used on berets. For example, the lowest rank in the Land Forces and Special Operations Corps, Sovereignsman, had a half-red plume on the top. The bottom half is used to denote the soldier's regiment; for example, a Sovereignsman in the Frisian Guards would have a plume with red on the top and green on the bottom.
Weaponry and Equipment - Whilst the Godcundstælians attempted to remain extremely traditional in all matters, the latest weaponry, equipment and armour was always prioritised. The latest gear includes SIG MPXs for the Special Operations Corps, modernised AK-47s and AK-74Ms.
Pay - Soldiers were some of the highest-paid workers in the entire country. They received a salary of Ł25 per month (roughly equating to £3,500) as the base pay which rose to up to Ł100 per month (£14,000) at the highest, with additional for disturbance pay, workman's compensation and other factors.
Foreign Policy & Land Policy
As of 21 November 2022, Godcundstæl is, according to the Sovereign, "isolating from both the micronational and international community until our strength is such that we can aptly and willingly protect our land".
Godcundstæl and its Sovereign currently have not publicly released their land claims, but have made their future goals clear - the entire British Isles.
