Alkanuit is a micronation that is completely surrounded by the United States. The capital of Alkanuit is Christland, and the country is a dominantly Christian area. The official name of Alkanuit is the Great Federal Commonwealth and Empire of Alkanuit. Alkanuit's official languages are English, Spanish, Japanese, Alkanuitian, Tibetan, Dzongkha, Cantonese, and Mongolian.

Currency

Alkanuit uses the United States dollar, the Alkanuitan Dollar which will be put into use after enough is printed, and Kindness.

Government

Alkanuit's government is divided into multiple parts: Upper Chamber, the Lower Chamber, the Starring, and the House of Representatives. The Starring holds powers to all of the other parts of government, as well as being the area where the President and Vice Vice President are.

Population

According to the Official Alkanuitan Population Estimate of 2022, there are 164 people within the current territory of Alkanuit. Out of which, 12 are citizens.

Weather

The weather in Alkanuit can vary as Alkanuit has territories in the American state of Florida, as well as Rhode Island, so while it may be warm in one area of Alkanuit, it may be cold in another.

Territory

Alkanuit has 3 main territories, but claims all of the east coast of the United States. Since Alkanuit has territories in both Florida and Rhode Island, Alkanuit's territories in Florida are considered the Capital Region.

Etymology

The name Alkanuit comes from the combinations of former fantasy nations: Alka and Gafenuit. It is unknown how Alka came to be, but Gafenuit came from a misspelling of the words "Gave a note" and after that, a new micronation was born, then they united after a conflict.

History

2020 Alkanese-Gafenuitian Conflict

On March 16th, 2020, Alka invaded Gafenuit. The conflict lasted until the peace treaty which happened on November 22nd, 2021, which united the two. The conflict was easily started simply because the leaders of the countries easily argued all the time. The excuse that Alka gave for invading Gafenuit was that Gafenuit had Alkanese people in it, so they belong to Alka. Gafenuit needed to defend against Alka, so they quickly gathered an army of 1 person. This was the same number of people in the army in Alka, so it seemed that they had a chance. Alka's army, however, was trained for a long time, so they easily and quickly beat Gafenuit. Gafenuit was prepared for their strategy, so they decided to act quick and put up defences. Gafenuit fought back bravely and countered their attacks. The conflict concluded with a peace treaty.

The history of Alkanuit goes much further than just their independence. As the etymology section established, Alkanuit came from 2 fantasy nations: Alka, and Gafenuit.

Independence

They combined for peace after the 2020 Alkanese-Gafenuitian conflict. The war lasted a year until November 22, 2021. This was when the Declaration of Independence was written, as well as the Constitution and the Peace Treaty between the 2 former nations. This was when Gafenuit was in destruction and Gafenuit had to retreat their forces from Alka.

Christland as capital city

The new capital for the nation was at first, undecided. They wanted a place that hasn't been affected by the conflict as much as others, and the former capitals wouldn't work for Alkanuit. They then decided on Christland because Christland is a small town that wasn't affected by the conflict.

False planetary claims

Alka had claims on planets in the solar system, so after the unification, Alkanuit still had those claims. Gafenuit had also had claims on planets in the solar system, so that became disputed. On January 23rd, 2022, the 2 had completely come to a conclusion to this dispute as the 2 provinces couldn't fight; they are now the same country. This means that they had to come to an agreement, and so they did. They would divide each planet that they had claimed in halves, one for Gafenuit's province and one for Alka's province. For both of them, they thought that this was the perfect solution because they would have the same planetary land area. After which, these claims were removed.

International

When Alkanuit first became independent, it did not interact with foreign micronations until Alkanuit joined the Micronational Assembly on 24 March, 2024. Alkanuit voted in favor of the 4th Charter of the Micronational Assembly. The only earlier international event being the formal recognition of the Republic of Paul.

Foreign affairs

Alkanuit has expressed foreign interest particularly in the realm of peace, by officially recognizing the Republic of Paul and officially recognizing and complying with the Wrythe Convention. Alkanuit hopes to become a role model for peace and kindness in the world. Alkanuit is open to diplomatic relations.

Alkanuitian Language

The Alkanuitian language is one of the official languages of Alkanuit. However, it would be considered a con-lang due to only being spoken and understood by the leader, who invented the language. It still holds an important role in Alkanuit as the constitution of Alkanuit officially sets Alkanuitian as an official language. The language uses the Latin alphabet, similar to many other languages.

Acceptance

Alkanuit celebrates many holidays throughout the year. They celebrate most holidays so that any visitors who come to Alkanuit are accepted and appreciated. Since Alkanuit is completely surrounded by the United States, they adopted many of their holidays as well, but the other main influence is that Alkanuit is a dominantly Christian micronation, which still accepts people of different cultures and languages. Alkanuit News

Initiation

Alkanuit News is a news website started by the Ruler of Alkanuit on December 31st, 2023. Alkanuit News started as a daily program until January 6th of 2024, when the Ruler of Alkanuit realized that writing articles every day would be too much work for one person. Most of the articles use a white or aqua background color, all of which are programmed in HTML files. Each new edition was uploaded to a Google Drive folder and all of them are named after their specific dates of which they released. All of them are authored by the Ruler of Alkanuit.

Migration to AlterVista

On March 24, 2024, Alkanuit News migrated to AlterVista for hosting rather than a trivial Google Drive folder. Alkanuit News switched their name to the Alkanuit Times, and uses WordPress on their website in order to publish their news through blogs. The original HTML files are still available through the Google Drive folder, and so are the laws, but they are moving to the Alkanuit Times, hosted on AlterVista.

Archival

Though the original articles for Alkanuit News have been deleted from Google Drive, they have been archived on Internet Archive for anyone to view. In addition, the files are packaged as a ZIP allowing for compression and the ability to hold all files at the same time.

The Alkanuit Times offers articles for Alkanuitians to read and gather information about current world events in order to form their own educated opinions. With articles from December 2023 to 2024, the Alkanuit Times offers up-to-date information about Alkanuit and the world.

Alkanuit GDPS

Alkanuit GDPS (Geometry Dash Private Server) is a way for Alkanuitians to play the famous game, but on Alkanuitian managed and created servers. Created on May 20th, 2023, Alkanuit GDPS has served as a form of entertainment for Alkanuitians. Additionally, Alkanuitians have made many levels as a way to spend their time when they are bored.
