Albalonga (/ˈAlbalonga/ Al-bah-lon-gah)), or formally the Principality of Albalonga), is a landlocked micronation. It has with a small body of water that accounts for 2% of its area. It claims sovereignty over land claims located in Italy, in the Latium region.
Etymology
The name Albalonga comes from Etruscan and pre-Roman history from the Latin city state of Albalonga, that once stood where the state's claims are.
The name "Alba Longa" comes from Latin; "Alba" means white while "Longa" means Long, this name comes from a Greek myth extracted from the Aeneis.
Also, the name is a tribute to Ascanius, son of Enea and founder of the settlement.
History
The idea of starting a micronational project came from Manuel Maria I° di Ledilia, that after concluding its first ever project named Principality of Ledilia decided to embark on a new journey, this time with much more in-depth planning and formation attempts.
The micronation was started as a one-man project but aims to expand and to become one of the most infleuntial micronations in the Italian and European communities. A week after formation, Città di Albalonga, the capital, was settled by a royal decree.
Foundation
During the month of February 2021, Manuel Maria decided to re-establish Albalonga by calling back previous citizens from Principality of Ledilia's remainants, attempting another micronational project. Project was instantly halted without further success.
During this first phase, the first layers for foundation were laid: a flag, a coat of arms, a royal anthem, a government type and a motto where found and adapted, all of these important steps were part of Manuel's original plans.
Reforming
In December 2023, Manuel Maria, with the help of a couple of old friends that had partaken in Ledilia's micronational project decided to regain control over Albalonga and all of its previous projects for it. A couple of edits were made on the its MicroWiki page but nothing more. Most of the changes will take place in April of 2024.
Government and politics
The government is a totalitarian constitutional monarchy, with a bicameral government. The upper house, the Council of Stato (in Italian: Consiglio di stato), consists of the Secretary of State, the Counselors which one of these 5 will be nominated chairman. The lower house, the People's Assembly (in Italian: Comizio della plebe), consists of 10 nominated peers that will represent the citizens, also serves as a constitutional guarantee. The lower house is led by a chair named "Tribune" (in Italian: Tribuno della plebe)

Law and order
All citizens are subject to Italy's law, as well as the Albalongean Criminal Code, a compilation of law-based acts.

The absolute monarchy ruled in the constitution the use of only 2 symbols, the Flag, which received a minor modification from the original one and the Coat of arms.
Great Seal
In accordance with the creation of the first government, the concept of a seal to represent the nation was created. The first appearance of this seal is going to be on the constitution.
Foreign Relations
Due the current state of facts, the nation hasn't entertained any type of foreign relation with any micronation.
Military and Public services
The military is operated by the Albalongean Security Forces (ASF) and has 1 main branch, the Albalongean Home Guard, which serves as a naval infantry branch mainly with a couple of specialized regiments.
The current Commander in chief is His Serene Royal Highness, Prince Manuel Maria. The military and all of the non-military organizations are regulated by the Serene Central command of State's Security (in Italian: Sereno comando per la sicurezza statale), all of the highest ranking officials part of the different branches are part of it. The SCCSS is in charge of making all decisions about different defense matters.
Albalongean Home Guard
The Albalongean Home Guard (in Italian: Corpo delle Guardie) is the main branch of the Albalongean Security Forces, it is structured to accomodate all the defense needs of the nation. The branch is divided in 3 mobile brigades, the first is the land-infantry one, the second one is the naval infantry with coast guard capabilities and the third one is the gendarmerie one.
National Police Service
The National Police service (in Italian: Servizio di Polizia Nazionale) is the only public safety branch, alongside the Civil Defense service. The main duty of the Police service is national policing, prevention and repression of all types of crimes regulated by the Criminal code.
Civil Defense
The Civil Defense service (in Italian: Servizio di Protezione civile) is the smallest service, composed primarily of volunteers that dedicate all of their passion to protect and serve towards the citizens. This service is responsible to resolve any type of emergency caused by the human or any type of natural disaster.

The climate of Albalonga is influenced by the Tyrrhean sea, the Lake and the height that different cities reach. These water bodies constitute a reservoir of heat and humidity for Albalonga. Within the southern temperate zone, they determine a Mediterranean climate with local differences due to the geomorphology of the territory, which tends to make its mitigating effects felt, especially under high-pressure conditions. Conditions on the coast are different from those in the interior, particularly during winter months when the higher altitudes tend to be cold, wet, and often snowy. The coastal regions have mild winters, and hot and generally dry summers; lowland valleys are hot in summer.
Territory
Originally consisting of Città di Albalonga and Dipartimento Lago, the Principality has incorporated another territory known as "Esquilinae". Albalonga is divided in provinces, 3 in total, respectively: Città di Albalonga, Provincia del Lago and Provincia Esquilino. The provinces are administrated by Governors and every province is divided in prefectures which are administrated by prefects.

Economy
The Principality has no major industries, and therefore has a minimal GDP. The currency is the Lira Albalonghese, current exchange rate is 7 euros per lira.
