In April 2023, Åxenö's economy crashed. The crash happened as many resources where being exported leaving nothing left in Åxenö. And because the market had no resources and only money, this caused high inflation. After the crash inflation would be the highest it had ever been. Also food prices went up to triple their original price. Åxenö recovered after about a month. The effetcs would also effect Mariuslandiko (now the Marius Empire).
Background
In early April 2023, Åxenö was exporting many resources including gravel, lumber and food. This would leave Åxenö with low amounts of resources and a lot of money.
Economic Crash
On 20 April Åxenös economy would crash. The immediate effects where high food prices. Food prices would double in value on the first day. The next day food prices had tripled. A real estate crisis began ass there was to much money in Åxenö. Real estate costed double its original price by the end of the day. Börkö Central Bank (Åxenös only bank) almost went bankrupt. Börkö Central Bank closed for a week. The effects where also felt in Mariuslandiko. As Mariuslandiko relied on Åxenö for resources but Åxenö had stoped exports. Mariuslandikos economy crashed aswell. The Covid-19 pandemic would make Åxenö close their borders down worsening the crisis.
Aftermath
After the economic crisis it would take a month for Åxenö and Mariuslandiko to recover. after a couple of months Åxenös economy started to grow once more. Mariuslandikos banks reopened and the same in Åxenö.
