The 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic spread to the then Principality of Montescano when its first case was confirmed on 10 March 2020. The case was confirmed in the county of Ladoha, surrounded by Beverwijck, Netherlands. The pandemic has affected an estimated 10 percent of the Montescanesque populace. On 12 March 2 more cases are suspected in Ladoha, resulting in 75% of Ladoha being affected. On 16 March one more case was confirmed in Ladoha, resulting in 100% of Ladoha being affected. On 23 March the last cases in Ladoha were declared to have recovered. On 1 April the first two cases were declared in the County of Beloozero, one being admitted to the hospital on 2 April. On 7 April the Head of the Beloozero County was hospitalised with a high fever and tested positively for COVID-19. On 9 April the first Montescanin subject died of viral pneumonia. On 12 April the last suspected case of Beloozero was confirmed for COVID-19 based on testing for antibodies. On 21 April the remaining 2 cases were declared COVID-19 free by local Ukrainian authorities. On 1 November 2020 an undisclosed high-ranking Pavlovian was tested positive for COVID-19 after 3 PCR tests confirmed the infection.
Preventive measures
On 28 February, the county of Chornozemlja was placed on lockdown by its count, amid an increase in US community-spread cases. On the day of the first confirmed case, several territories, including Ladoha, Alkland, and Khattrask, were placed under quarantine, before it was announced that the borders of the entire country were closed. Citizens were recommended to stay home in the wake of the outbreak. The government of Montescano also has purchased a large supply of face masks, which will arrive later in March. They will be available for use among the public via shipment. On 12 March the face masks arrived in Obolensk, and went up for sale straight after receiving them. On 17 March the sale of medicine was forbidden on the territory of Montescano, the government confiscating all of it to prepare for the upcoming crisis.
Controversy
The 2020 coronavirus pandemic is controversial in Pavlov due to her Senate declaring the pandemic a hoax, after a motion proposed by Tsesarevych Jaroslav Aleksandrovych was passed in the Senate.
