A referendum on electoral reform took place by mail-in ballot between 23 May and 24 May 2020, in the Kingdom of Vatolean. Voters would vote for a king and if they wanted a republic. Results will start to be announced at 5 pm on 24 May.

Background

On 11 May 2020, the leader of the Pirate Party dissolved the party and along with the Communist Party created the Royalist Party. At 4:39 Eastern Standard Time, Joey and his supporters declared war and that he would be king. A proposal was created to make two co-kings and was voted down in the Folketing by a 1-3 margin. At 4:45 Prime Minister Sweetie the Cat called a referendum on the monarch and if Vatolean should become a Republic.
