Xahastan International Airlines is the Xahastanian national airline, headquartered in the Parliament Building in Reqqen, the capital of Xahastan.

History

In 2020 (just after the 2020 Xahastanain coup d'état) the new government of Xahastan began to establish a slew of state owned companies to jump start the economy, one of these companies was an airline under the tentative name 'National Airways'. However the establishment of the airline coincided with the spread of the new COVID-19 pandemic which essentially halted any progress in regards to starting operations or acquiring aircraft. The airline remained dormant until the beginnings of 2021 when air travel began to re-start, with the airline being renamed and re-branded as Xahastan International Airlines. With this re-branding the government began the task of procuring aircraft for the new airline.

The government first approached aircraft storage facilities in Alice Springs and the Mojave Desert in regards to leasing two stored Airbus A320s and two stored Boeing 777s with there offer being refused under the grounds of the Republic of Xahastan being an 'illegitimate terrorist group'. After being rejected, the Xahastanian Government tasked four units of elite Eyes of the Revolution Commandos to seize aircraft by 'any means necessary'. After being issued this directive, four flights were hijacked with the purpose to essentially steal the aircraft. The flights hijacked were: American Airlines Flight 27, a Boeing 787 going to Los Angeles, Qantas Flight 884, a Boeing 737-800 going to Brisbane, Singapore Airlines Flight 4872, a Boeing 777 going to Singapore and QantasLink Flight 9956, a Boeing 717 going to Launceston. These aircraft were landed at a small airstrip in middle of the Northern Territory, with all passengers and crew being dis-embarked and held captive by other units of the Eyes of the Revolution. The hostages were used as bargaining chips in later confrontations with the Australian government. A total of 3 people died during the ordeal with two people being shot for trying to resist the hijackers and one man (who was a member of parliament) was executed as an 'example'. These stolen aircraft were then ferried to Bankstown Airport where Xahastan International Airlines markings were applied to the aircraft. Soon after this the airline commenced its inaugural service to Melbourne with cities like Brisbane, Perth and Canberra being served soon after. The airline also began its first international service in 2022 with Denpasar being added.
