The Mindest Monarchist State of Verdistania, more commonly known as Verdistania, is a micronation in Central Kansas. It was founded on the 1st of June, 2023, and has been thriving since. When the micronation was first founded, all it was-was a small piece of land and 3 people.
Etymology
The word "Verdistania" comes from the 'Verdigris river'. Verdistania was originally Turkistan and Verdistan however, the two micronations would merge in early 2023.
History
Verdistania was founded when two micronations merged to found one. After an ongoing meeting with the two countries, they would make a truce and later merge together. During this time, Verdistan would be attacked by 2 personnel of the Navarre (Now Linksberg) 1st infantry. For 2 months, the new country had no military or money. However, a meeting with the two rulers would happen and they would start recruiting people to work for country. A constitution was made on June 1, 2023 and Verdistania would officialy be formed.
Verdi Empire
Just 2 months after Verdistania would be founded, they would all seperate and form the bigger Verdi Empire. The reason, according to King William, would simply be that "Verdistania is too big to rule over." Unfortunately, the Verdi Empire would last only 3 weeks before finally, Verdistania would go back to its old land claims of which Verdistan had. This would mean that the territories of Alberia, Sewer Creek (which would later be colonized by Alberia), and THC would all gain full independence.
The Second Verdi Empire
On March 19th, a meeting would be held between the leaders of Verdistania, Alberia, Moscowa, The THC, and Valkyrie. In this meeting it would be decided that Verdistania, Alberia, and Moscowa would come back together to form The Second Verdi Empire. On March 20th, a Declaration of Unionization would be signed by both King William and the then President of Alberia, Owen. Currently, the entire Verdistanian Empire has a population of 31.
The October Crisis
On October 11, 2024, the Verdistanian government suffered a large mistake. Tlċadċr Zander had stated that "all troops were to prepare for war immediately". King William would not learn of this order until later that day. Upon learning that Verdistania was preparing for a war, he tried asking Tlċadċr Owen why they were going to war, however even he did not know. A meeting was scheduled between all of the constitutional council that night. At the meeting, Tlċadċr Zander would talk about how King William had wanted to go to war with the nation of Valkyrie about a month before. King William would state that "I have only ever wanted to go to war with them when they had broken away from the empire". The leader of Valkyrie would also be at the meeting and would say that "Yea, you (Verdistania) have an air force, but what is it? A goose with an acorn strapped to the bottom of it?". During the meeting, the misunderstanding would be cleared up and King William would make it clear that he had absolutely no intent to declare war on Valkyrie.
Politics and government
Verdistania is a Mindest Monarchy State. Mindism is where a micronation and it's residents are ruled by the constitution. With a Mindest government comes a constitutional council which will have up to 5 members all chosen by the ruling monarch. Verdistania has a council which consists of King William, Tlċadċr Owen, and Tlċadċr Zander.
The Peacemakers
Verdistania only has one form of protection. The KMA Royal Guard. Not only do they take care of crime but they also are the only army personnel. They are mostly present in the territories that they live in however sometimes they will come to meetings and conferences. As of October 2024, 7 people are in the Royal Guard.
Geography and climate
Verdistania is located in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Usually, the high of the year is at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit while the low is usually 0 degrees Fahrenheit. However, in the recent Winters, it has only gotten hotter and hotter. In the Winter of 2022, it got up to 85 degrees, which is very unusual for the area.
Territories
Verdistania has 3 territories. Verdigria, The Verdigris Meadows, and Halbinsel. Verdigria has the capitol of Verdiburg, whilst the Verdigris Meadows has the only national landmark, Mt. Hind. Halbinsel is home to Halbinsel Beach, the largest city in Verdistania.
Linksberg
Linksberg is a small micronation in Williamsburg, Virginia. They are technically apart of Verdistania and just a territory however the inhabitants of Linksberg think not. As of Summer 2023, 5 residents live in Linksberg. King Chex rules over Linksberg with his assistant John IV.
Death of King Link
On February 8th, 2024, King Link would venture out away from Linksberg to expand the territory. Unfortunately, he would never return to Linksberg. The cause would be a freak accident. Just 2 weeks later, King Chex would take over. This would cause those in Linksberg and Verdistania to consider a name change, however that never went through.
Transportation
Verdistania has many forms of transportation. The "Vċrdirod" highway serves Verdigria and the Verdigris Meadows. When entering Verdistania from the border checkpoint, you will be on that road. All vehicles are permitted on the highway. The second form of transportation Verdistania has is KMA Airways, an airline founded by representatives in the K.M.A. It currently serves four destinations all from the Shċd Travlċport. The airline made its first flight in late June and has been flourishing every since.
KMA Airways Flight 6
On the evening of July 17th, 2024, KMA Airways Flight 6 set off from the Mt. Hind Gateway Airport. It was carrying a cargo load of beans. 3 minutes into the flight, the aircraft, a modified Cub Sport, crashed into a building in the Verdistania Meadows. The beans would spill out and the plane would be damaged. A thorough investigation would find out that due to windshear, the aircraft couldn't climb fast enough to avoid hitting the building. It was also attributed to pilot error, as the plane shouldn't of been near the Verdistania Meadows that far into the flight.
Economy
Verdistania's economy is currently at a standard growth due the Alberian town KHICKĊNSBURÌ, which has a population of 6, producing eggs at an extremely fast pace, generating about 1,500 peitrish daily ($10 USD)
Events
There are currently two holidays celebrated. Founding Day which on June 1st, celebrates the founding of Verdistania and Unification Day, which is celebrated on March 20th to observe the unification of Alberia, Moscowa, and Verdistania.
