Venae, formally known as the Grand Republic of Venae, is a micronation officially established on 2nd June 2023, located in the Moulton Marsh Nature Reserve in Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, with the capital located in the "Hereward" territory. Venae also has a territory located in Turkey. Venae is a separatist micronation, and considers themselves as separate from the United Kingdom, and seeks full sovereignty.
The Grand Republic of Venae operates as an absolute monarchy, (Sovereign Lord) Chris I, guiding its direction and development. Its legal system is based on the laws of the United Kingdom, ensuring justice and protection for residents. Laws in Venae have a focus on conserving the freedoms of the people while still providing the required social programmes to help them live happy lives. Venae is a shining example of inclusivity and progress, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, and nationalities to contribute to its growth and advancement. The territory encompasses an area of salt marsh, three lagoons and 5 small islands as well as a few stretches of forest in Lincolnshire, offering a calm and natural environment. The flag, with a yellow background, black cross and white cross, symbolizes bravery, truth and strength. Overall, Venae upholds principles of socialism, environmental harmony, and the strong opposition to racism and extremism, fostering an inclusive and proud community.
Etymology
The name Venae comes from the name of the venae cavae, a pair of veins in the heart which pump deoxygenated blood back into the heart.
History
The Establishment
The Republic of Tyralania was a state located in Lincolnshire in early 2021. After the micronation of Tyralania dissolved, several successor states emerged. The People's Republic of Lenoslavia was one of these states and eventually dissolved. After a few months, the two former leaders of the PRL, Chris I and Luke I decided to establish the Grand Republic of Venae. Throughout the early history of Venae, Luke I was highly inactive in the government of the new Grand Republic, and was eventually removed from power by Chris I due to his disinterest in the nation. Chris I is the head of the government of Venae.
After the Establishment
- Venae befriends the Principality of Chrimate.
- The Grand Republic of Venae joins the Union of North Atlantic Micronations as a founding member.
- The Grand Republic of Venae founds the Venaean Commonwealth, which includes the Republic of Exaristan, the Kingdom of Great Mercia and the Republic of Rerebastan.
- The Grand Republic of Venae, alongside two other micronations, founds the UMO.
- The Great Venaean Reforms take place, which involve the changing of borders and holding "democratic" elections within the territories of Venae.
Politics and government
The government is ruled by the Sovereign Lord, which is a title that can only be given by the current Sovereign Lord, and is usually a title reserved for the founder of the nation, Chris I. The Sovereign Lord has complete control of the nation and is the head of the government, as well as the Venaean Commonwealth.
Law and order
The legal system of the Grand Republic of Venae is based on the laws of the United Kingdom. It ensures justice, fairness, and protection for all individuals within its jurisdiction. In alignment with its core principles, the micronation has implemented specific legislation that strictly prohibits the harm of any creature within the territories.
Military
The Venaean Armed Forces is ran by the Sovereign Lord, and contains three branches: the Venaean National Guard, the Venaean Aegean Guard and the Venaean Royal Navy. These three branches handle the defence of the nation.

The Grand Republic of Venae doesn't form relations with nations which are involved in "micronational war" or engage in LARP claims.

There 13 "territories" in Venae, which are: "Cecil", "Webb", "Taupin", "Czajkowski", "Newton", "Hereward", "Tennyson", "Flinders", "Stukeley", "Foale", "Temperton", "Frinton" and "Tavşan".
There are 2 Autonomous Regions of Venae, which are the Crabistan Autonomous Region and the Marskens Autonomous Region. Crabistan was founded after the discovery of a large population of crabs located in the saltwater lagoons. Marskens was founded after a small selection of the Venaean population demanded an autonomous region for the Catholic members, as opposed to the Atheist majority of Venae.
Economy
Venae uses it's own currency called the Venaean Mense, and 1 Mense is equal to 1 Pound Sterling.
