User project:MicroProject Commons
MicroWiki has dozens of pages that are comprised primarily of documents. There is an easy solution to this, which is putting the documents into MicroWiki Commons. When you do this, it makes MicroWiki look more professional and encyclopaedic and helps grow the MicroWiki Commons.
There is also a distinct need to clarify categorisation in MicroWiki Commons. This will improve the credibility of Commons, and therefore the wiki at large.
How you can help
You can help by adding the Template:Move to Commons to pages that are primarily documents. This can be achieved by the use of {{Move to Commons}}
. If you have the time, you could also help by creating a MicroWiki Commons page and moving the document over. Documents include statements, acts/codes, constitutions etc.
Once the contents of the document have been moved, if you aren't going to clean up the article, use Template:Clean up document article to bring attention to cleaning the page up. This can be used as {{Clean up document article}}
(not yet available). Additionally, Template:Move to Commons should be removed. Cleaning up means either deleting the contents of the page and listing for deletion, or giving it context and history with a link to the MicroWiki Commons document.
MicroWiki Commons naming scheme
There is a prevailing method for naming articles in MicroWiki Commons. This is Document name (Country)/Subset.
Subsets
The use of subsets is not needed if the document is a single installation, such as a constitution or single act. Royal decrees or executive orders should use subsets, as should any document with multiple instalments or volumes (for example, Executive Orders (Alsann)/1.
Country or organisation name
The use of the country's name in brackets (eg. (Alsann)) is also not required if the name of the country is built into the title, such as Constitution of the Penn Federal Republic or Alsann Proclamation. However, brackets should be used in every other situation to avoid confusion (for example, Naming Act 2019 (New Eiffel))
Displaying year of publication
When entitling some act of a legislature, or where there are multiple documents in the same country by the same name, (Year, country) should be used at the end. This can be seen in Parliamentary Practice (2020, Cupertino Alliance). If there is more than one installation within that year, it should be denoted with 'second revision' or 'second edition' (for example, Charter of the Grand Unified Micronational (2021, first edition)). Evidently, this is not required if the relevant identifier is in the title.
Changing existing article titles
Articles with titles not fitting in this guide should be given Template:Clean up title within MicroWiki Commons. If you see an article with this box, please move it to a title which fits into the current naming scheme.
Membership
You can put your username down underneath this, and you'll be able to use the MicroProject Commons userbox! All you need to do is occasionally clean up a document page, or the MicroWiki Commons.
The userbox can be used through {{MicroProject Commons userbox}}
