The United Church of Benjastan is the largest religous institution in the Democratic Republic of Benjastan. It calls itself a "progressive protestant" denomination, and was established on 8 August 2020. The church is very progressive on issues related to atheism, LGBT rights, women's rights, and other religions.

Structure

The United Church of Benjastan uses an elected structure, which each congregation electing a pastor (with a review vote every year), and a Chairperson for the entire church being elected every two years.

Views

LGBTQ+ Rights

The United Church of Benjastan is in favour of gays and lesbians having the right to marry and adopt, and believe that they are not sinful. The church also recognizes transgender individuals as being the genders that they say they are (and are scientifically proven to be).

Atheism

The United Church of Benjastan is tolerant of Atheism, and believe that they are not sinning by believing what they do.

The Concept of "Hell"

The United Church of Benjastan believes that hell was invented by the church to scare indivuals into attending services and donating to the churches, and that there is no biblical evidence for the existence of hell. Furthermore, they believe that no loving God would torture people, and that God is capable of forgiveness for everyone.

Collectivism

The Church of Benjastan believes that the principle of socialism and collectivism are part of biblical teachings, and that Jesus himself would be a socialist today.

Biblical Fundumantalism

The Church believes that while the Bible can teach us many things and much of it is true, Jesus also spoke in metaphors and parables, and thus not all of it can be taken literally as fact.
