Introduction
Before the war began, Personia and West Latgale had previous conflicts. The West Latgalian independence war, and the 20 hour war began. In this conflict, Personia had lost a large portion of it's territory, and began to create a revanchist identity, wanting to retake it's lost lands, mainly the West bank. Although, before the war's suprising beginning, the relations of West Latgale and Personia were doing good, to the point where both nations almost agreed to re-begin diplomatic relations.
Beginning of the war
On the 20 of November 2021, a border attack happened on a area of the West Latgalian-Personian border, located in Vuornmīsts. It's not clear who commited the border attack, but it had been too late, with this being the last straw of the tensions between both nations. On the 20 October, war began. For several days, nothing had happened because of awful weather conditions. On 22 October, West Latgale managed to push into Personia's territory, with the Personian armed forces personnel retreating by a few dozen meters, and began to dig trenches. During these pushes, the border fence between both nations was almost completely destroyed, with around 80% of the fence damaged as of 20 December. After large snowfall, the war began to stall with only a few skirmishes happening. On the 11 December, the snow began to melt, allowing the West Latgalian army to quickly push into Personian territory, with the war then being forced to continue as a urban war, from buildings, bushes, foxholes and trees. On the 21 December, the war continued with newly-dug trenches. When it began to snow again, the war continued in trenches, after a battle on new years, a 48 hour truce was signed, after the truce several skirmishes happened, aswell as 2 citizens from West Latgale were seen fighting for Personia. They were linked with the communist insurgency in West Latgale, which began to fight against the West Latgalian government around the 7 to 8 December. On January 16, the Military seemed to have a mutiny, or coup. The Belarusian volunteer army/division had fully stopped fighting, and began to, with other units of the army, which were primarily Polish, Belarusian, Lithuanian or Ukrainian, block off the Saeima building, aswell as the headquarters of the military. Soon, on January 17, from 8:10-9:43, the army would begin to fully stop fighting in areas like Personia, and the Communist insurgency regions, during this time, Personia would push West Latgale way back, even pushing in some mainland West Latgalian regions. At 9:52, the Belarusian volunteer army, and Belarusian and Polish party members would declare a independent country, in the Belarusian majority region of Uor-Kūknpiļe, soon the same would happen in the Polish majority regions. Although, luckily, on January 16, all documents, musuem archives, weapons, ministries and else would be moved to the Presidential palace, and surrounding areas as apart of the evacuation plan. Later, by around 11:35, news of another political entity seceding, this time in the capital city, came to Roberts and Sasha, where in which, Sasha S, a loyalist, declared Iesussstan independent, as apart of the loyalist movement. Some remained loyal, such as the Police force, and parts of the army, which later were transformed into the National loyalist military, a force that now serves the Holy Order of Saint Gregory of Nazianzus. During this time, many more movements seceded, and at 4 PM, in 17 January, Roberts officialy dissolved West Latgale, while recognition of other political entities in the region only happened by the 31st of January. During this time, Personia had a large victory ceremony, and began to have their own wars with other political entities in the region, which they seemed to not be winning.
