The Territory of Laniatus, commonly referred to as simply "Laniatus" is a special territorial administration located in southern Ohio. Per the law of the unrecognized provisional government, the territory consists of a total of 7 administrative subdivisions, additionally bordering Province 05 of Meritia. As of the 2023 census, the territory’s de jure private owner was recognized as the only “permanent” citizen, however at times it’s temporary population can reach estimations as high as 20 individuals. The territory also is surrounded on all borders by the United States, more specifically the US state of Ohio. Laniatus comprises a total of 261 acres of land (262 by some claims). The landlord of Laniatus does not believe in the legitimacy of Meritia’s claim to Province District 05, and instead believes the full Laniatian territorial boundaries to consist of 262 acres of land. The Capital and largest city of Laniatus is Montgomery, located in the Montgomery Administrative Region.
Laniatus is autocratically controlled by the private owner of the territory, who holds absolute power over all authorized decisions within Laniatus, maintaining absolute governance over the region. The Theorized Empire of Laniatus would make the current Autocrat Private Owner the Emperor of the Area, and would Form a More Organized Government in the Region. As of recently, there have been no Plans to Create this Imperial State, especially with the current Tensions between them and The Empire of Meritia. The Underground Provisional Government of Laniatus is the current Democratic form of the Regional Government, however this is a fully Illegal Operation by Meritia to Democratize the Autocracy. This Provisional Branch consists of 7 Members, 1 President of The Provisional Government, and 6 Provisionals.
History
The Territory of Laniatus has a very vast and long History. It was first Listed on the Public Market as a Purchasable Plot of Land around the 1800s, where it was bought by an unknown Landlord who turned it into a Farm. It was then Owned by numerous Private Sources for the next Century, where in an unknown time in the Year 1990 was Acquired under Shared Ownership by the Great Grandparents of Joseph I, Emperor of Meritia. It remained under this Divisional Power System until the Death of Joseph I's Great Grandfather, where the Portion was then given to Current Landlord Joseph I's Grandfather. This System remained until January 2019, where the Half Governed by Joseph I's Great Grandmother was Sold off and given Govern ship to Joseph I's Grandfather, who from then onwards became the Total Autocrat of the entire Territory. He remains in Power to this day, and is by Meritian Consideration a relatively bad influence at times, being very easily Enraged at minor remarks. This Aggression resulted in the Conflict of The Meritian-Laniatian Annexation War, Declared by Meritia on 10/10/2021 and Resolved on 10/24/2021.
