Tamesia (Tamesian: Tamezi), officially the Tamesian People's Republic (Tamesian: Tamezi Volxrezpublik) is a country located in the southern British Isles constituting several territories along the River Thames. The sovereign state borders the United Kingdom, considered by the Tamesian government to be an "existential threat to the peace and security of the nation's people" (President Visar, 2018). Tamesia declared independence in February 2014 in what has come to be reffered to as the 'Mallard Revolution' by state historians.
Despite the Mallard Revolution favouring a secular state structure, Tamesia has always been a predominantly Christian nation. Tamesia's state church - the Tamezi Eklezia-Katholikit - officially split from the Roman Catholic Church in 2019 during President Visar's constitutional reforms (the Goat Revolution). One major reason for the split was the Roman Catholic Church's role in the breakup of the Warsaw pact, most accutely seen in their support of the Polish Solidarity movement. The Tamesian state under Visar has seen the evolution of the nation from a secular, social-democratic country into a centralised Christian-socialist people's republic, infuenced economically and socially by the former Marxist-Leninist states of the 20th century.
Tamesia consists of seven semi-autonomous republics: Soreleaux, Khirkfeld, Sanktajosefsland, Gravel, Sudtamezi, Kollontaia and Visaropol.
History
Mallard Revolution and the United Republics
In February 2014, the first national government was formed in present-day Tamesia. Under the leadership of the People's Party, the United Republics became the first state in the region, occupying several territories along the Tamesian gulf. Coming to power in what contemporary historians call the Mallard Revolution, the People's Party government engaged in a policy of isolationism and strict border control, leading to stunted cultural and economic development (read: inactivity). The United Republics would last only a year before collapsing, yet in that time the foundations of Tamesian society and tradition were layed. During it's brief existence the state achieved the construction of a naval force, the People's Liberation Navy, as well as a rudimentary economic system and national currency (Ꮸ/Credits).
Occupation
The United Republics government, in March 2015, signed an accord to dissolve the National Assembly and become a member state of the neighboring Kingdom of the UU. Under this new arrangement the prior national government reformed into the Governate of Lukoslavia, with the People's Party reorganising as the Lukoslav Antisocial-Democratic Party. During the occupation the AsDP were complicit in the suppression of Luksolav citizens during the Great Purge, as well as later collaborating in the military coup against the UU's ruling Socialist Movement Party in late 2015.
After the occupation, Prime Minister Byroad of the UU central government recruited Lukoslav governor L.D. Autumn and foreign contractor Cameron G. as state security officers. This new secret state security office became responsible for the interrogation and temporary imprisomnent of many suspected anti-government elements within the Kingdom's government and military. Known as the Great Purge, this period of paranoia within the state was largely exaccerbated by Cameron G. and L.D. Autumn as a part of their plan to overtake the Royal Government and establish a nationalist republican state under military rule.
Prime Minister Byroad was imprisoned by L.D. Autumn in September 2015. Cameron G. was sworn in as Interim Commander-General and the Kingdom transitioned into a Republic. Under G's leadership the AsDP negotiated the independence of Lukoslavia, with Governor Autumn assuming the position of President of Lukoslavia and Chairman of the UU State Parliament. The military government later collapsed, with Prime Minister Byroad reassuming leadership, recognising the independence of Lukoslavia.
On the 1st of September the Tamesian people celebrate Liberation Day in memory of the struggle against The Occupation.
Independence
From September 2015 to February 2016 the AsDP - now reorganised as the Communist Party of Lukoslavia - reinstituted the nation's isolationist policy. As the Free State of Lukoslavia, the government maintained positive relations with the Kingdom of the UU until that nation's collapse in December 2015. In this period the government moved towards the construction of a socialist economy influenced by Marxism-Leninism. The state used the flag of the UU (Lukoslavia's flag during the occupation), defaced with the hammer and sickle.
The Free State fell into a long period of economic stagnation and political instability (read: inactivity), ending in 2019 with the introduction of the Visar constitution. Over this period several governments claimed legitimacy over the Tamesian region: The Imperial Council, the Transtamesian Democratic Republic, the Anglodeutsche Commonwealth, the Republic of Britain and the Republic of Gravel. President Visar, leader of the Volxkreuz Party, assumed leadership of the region in February 2019.

The Volxkreuz Party was founded in late 2018 by Koba Visar, former leader of the Communist Party of Lukoslavia, with the intention of ending the period of stagnation. The party was a merger of Christian elements in the Communist Party, along with soldiers in the Free Officers Union. The Communist Party was officially dissolved on the 25th of December 2018, allowing for the Volxkreuz Party to install a new government. Under the new party, a referendum was called to decide on the official name of the country, along with a series of popular votes on the economic direction the new Tamesian government would pursue. The national votes resulted in the Volxkreuz Party adopting a socialist economic policy, christian national culture and traditional value system, often reffered to as Volxkreuz Socialism or Christian Socialism. Shortly after, Visar instituted mass language reforms, calling on the Tamesian people to "help construct a proud, strong and powerful national identity for the Tamesian people."
The Party, emerging from the Tamesian communist movement, was structured on similar lines to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, with an annual congress held to vote on party line, a central committee voted at every congress to oversee party operations and several branch councils working alongside the church in running local government. Alongside the Party, Visar founded the military committee (MILKOM) to coordinate governance and defence duties.

Military
The armed forces of Tamesia are known as the Defenzfront, consisting of army, airforce and naval divisions. The Defenzkorps is coordinated by MILKOM, the military's political division. MILKOM also oversees the operations of the VKS, Tamesia's state security division.
National Liberation Army (Nazion Liberazarmie)
The NLA was formed in 2018 as the armed wing of the Volxkreuz Party. Under Volxkreuz leadership the organisation was incorporated into the armed forces, becoming the first standing army in Tamesia for over four years.
Tamesian People's Air Corps (Volx-Airokorps)
Tamesia's airforce, the V-AK, is currently in the process of research and development. Written into law by Visar's constitution, the state intends for the V-AK not only to defend Tamesia but also advance the fields of aerospace engineering and research in the country. The airforce consists of two sections, the Assault Force (Kombatan Forz) and the Engineering Force (Masonik Forz).
Tamesian People's Sea Corps (Volx-Marakorps)
The V-MK is the most recent incarnation of the Tamesian navy, a recognised institution and the largest and best-equipped of the Defenzkorps divisions. The navy dates back to the Mallard Revolution, with the People's Liberation Navy of the United Republics being the first military force in the region to represent Tamesian people over imperialists. The naval emblem evokes the flag of the United Republics in homage to the PLN.
