@Aumarea: That does not make any sense; there is no need to prepare for something that may happen in the future. This is simply wholly unnecessary. In any case, if another article with this exact title has to be created, than this one may be moved. But there is no point in doing this now. An article with an identical title may never even end up being created, rendering the disambiguater completely pointless. While I understand your point that there aren't any other pages currently under the same name, however there are bound to be some other micronations which will have roles styled "Minister of Veteran Affairs" or similar. I do not think it necessary to remove the page's disambiguation as pages pertaining to those roles have a possibility of being created. Plus the disambiguation makes it more explicit that this is an Aumarean office.
I have also seen other pages that your argument can also be applied to but no attempts have been made to remove the disambiguator, and while pages like that are left as-is then I fail to see why this page shouldn't be treated the same. Aumarea (talk) 14:26, 4 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
They should also be removed from those pages you saw; administrators such as Oritsu.me have routinely done this. The disambiguater has no reason to be here—the status quo stipulates that it be removed. I have been on this wiki for quite some time and am familiar with our de facto policies. If you want this policy to be changed than perhaps ask an administrator or look for consensus first. Again, the title being used elsewhere is highly unlikely; no macronation uses "Minister of Veteran Affairs" (though several use Veterans, but that would thus be different to this page's title and once again render the disambiguater as redundant). I understand if it's the rules but based on your suggestion I will consider discussing this with an Admin. While I respect if it's a rule I will challenge it if I believe it to be stupid. Aumarea (talk) 19:48, 4 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I would personally like to add my two cents in here. Perhaps instead of titling the article with '(Aumarea),' if you wish not to use 'Minister of Veteran Affairs,' why not just rename the ministry all together and rename it to something like 'Ministry of Aumarean Veteran Affairs' or something similar? It just seems silly to not have it be simplified like that in my opinion. Ela'r'oech Charles (talk) 21:41, 4 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Interesting suggestion. I will take it into consideration. Aumarea (talk) 08:35, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hello, there’s no need to disambiguate the title if there’s nothing to disambiguate it with. While you have a reasonable argument that there may be another article over the same type of minister in the future, they still might not share the exact same name (at which point a “not to be confused with” may be added) and do not need to be actively prepared for. The page should simply be Minister of Veteran Affairs until it’s needed to be called something else, as other administrators like the previously mentioned Ortisu.me has worked to establish. I hope this helps! 𝄞 StrubberContributions 21:51, 4 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
