The State of Arrowstan, or just Arrowstan for short, is a micronation located in the American state of Illinois with an estimated population of 7,549. The nation is divided into separate states, each with several counties. The nation has three states located in it's borders, Stolica, Worth and Mason.

The nation was founded by a man named Allen J. Hanna, someone who has had a history of micronationalism as he had originally started two nations before. Hanna holds control over the majority of the nation, being the President, Head of the Congress, head of the New Flag Movement, and Head of Defense. Arrowstan is a relatively new nation, being formed in 2024 after a short hiatus by the president.

The nation has a strong anti-communist and anti-fascist rule and is very pro-United States and pro-NATO. Recently, the president formed the Arrowstani Department of Anti-Extremism, which created a list of banned symbols within Arrowstan including flags and symbols of far-right and far-left organizations across the world.

Etymology

The name "Arrowstan" does not have a verified or official meaning, it was selected by Allen Hanna and has stuck for the entirety of the nation's history.

History

The nation was formed by Allen J. Hanna on June 22nd, 2023. The nation consisted of the territories of Allen Hanna's home property and the entirety of Worth County, Iowa, a small county in northern Iowa with a small population.

The nation later started a railroad system called the Arrowstani Rail Agency, as well as the Police Corps, National Parks Agency, Education Agency, Propaganda Agency, Weather Agency, and Diplomatic Agency.

On November 20th, 2023, the Arrowstani Government took a significant step by establishing the Arrowstani Department of Defense (ADOD). This move aimed to enhance national security both internally and externally.

In 2024, the President became bored with micronationalism as a whole and decided to dissolve the Arrowstani government and military, going on a short hiatus, before eventually returning. He formed the New Flag Movement (NFM) which became head of the Arrowstani Government and reformed the nation's military, creating the Arrowstani Defense Group (ADG).

Arrowstan now is a very slow country, only having relations with one other nation, that nation being the Usonan Federation, led by Christian Eichelberger. Hanna has tried to expand diplomatic relations with others through the creation of the Arrowstani Department of Affairs (ADA). Hanna also created a new client state called the People's State of Ilyushia (or simply Ilyushia for short) which was located in far-east Russia, encompassing Sakhalin and parts of Kamchatka.

Government and Politics

The power of the government is mainly held by the power of the President, whose position is currently held by Allen J. Hanna. The nation does not hold elections since there is no one to take hold of such power besides Allen Hanna. Hanan also holds the position as Premier of the People's State of Ilyushia, a client state formed by Arrowstan in far-eastern Russia.

Head of state

The current head of state of the State of Arrowstan is Allen Hanna, who is recognized as the president. The president holds most of the decision-making power in the government as there is currently no one available for the position.

Political parties

There is only one major political party in the State of Arrowstan and that is the New Flag Movement (NFM).

Police and Military

The Arrowstani Armed Forces is a collective group of the military of the State of Arrowstan. It’s managed by the Arrowstani Defense Group (ADG) comprised of the Arrowstani Department of Command (ADC) and the Arrowstani Department of Management (ADM). The ADC manages and controls the military by order of the President of the State of Arrowstan, Allen J. Hanna. At the same time, the ADM helps manage the equipment and members of the military, including troops and military equipment and weapons.

The ADG controls the Arrowstani Department of Internal Defense (ADID) and the Arrowstani Department of External Defense (ADED). The ADID will control civilian defense groups such as the Arrowstani Police Corps (APC) and the Arrowstani Civilian Corps (ACC). The APC is the state-owned civilian police force within Arrowstan.

The ADED on the other hand will control all military forces that operate outside of Arrowstan’s national borders. The ADED had control over the Arrowstani Ground Command (AGC), the Arrowstani Air Command (AAC), and the Arrowstani Online Command (AOC). The AGC controls both the 1st Ground Regiment and the 2nd Ground Regiment. The 1st Ground Regiment also comprises the President’s Force, while the 2nd Ground Regiment comprises the Great Dane Divison and the Vulture Divison.

Some smaller and external groups managed by the ADG include the Arrowstani Department of Affairs (ADA) and the Arrowstani Department of Anti-Extremism (ADAE). They also manage the Peoples’ Army of Ilyushia (PAI), The People’s Navy of Ilyushia (PNI), and the Peoples’ Air Force of Ilyushia (PAFI) (and also have some influence in the Ilyushian Red Party.

Foreign relations

The State of Arrowstan has a very open foreign policy and is for spreading freedom and democracy within the micronational community. The nation has a very pro-American and pro-NATO stance and a strong hatred to Communism and Fascism.

Subdivisions

The State of Arrowstan is divided into separate states with separate counties. These states and counties are all administered by the Arrowstani Office of Outer Territories (AOOT) which holds most of the autonomy of territories outside of Stolica State. The three states are Stolica State, which is the capital state, Worth State, and Mason State, with Mason State being the newest state to be administered.
