Start Your Own Country Day is a micronational holiday observed annually on 22 November. The unofficial observation has been declared a formal public holiday in several micronations. As the name suggests, the holiday encourages non-micronationalists to create their own country. The origin of the holiday is unknown. Several self-published sources claim that it originated at the 1939 New York World's Fair, but there is no evidence for this. Indeed, the holiday is first attested by November 2000.
