The Socialist Republic of Ozark is a Micronation founded on 23 June 2020, in the Ozark region of the United States. It is a democratic republic founded on the principles of socialism. The government is devoted to serving its people first and foremost.
History
The Socialist Republic of Ozark was founded in Springfield Missouri by Judah d'Etatsar. The founding of the republic was founded with the idea of creating a local government devoted to socialist teachings and bettering the community through socialist means. The first elections for leadership in the nation took place on 25 June with a constitution following shortly after.
After several months of activity, the Socialist Republic dissolved sometime in December 2020.
Government Structure
The government of the SRO is structured around the people. The Commissariat of the People is directly voted in and controlled by the people, the Commissariat of the People then controls and manages the three major commissariats (defense, diplomacy, and management). The term lengths of the different Commissars are only a few months long as to avoid political stagnation. The people also elect Consuls to the Commissars to keep their power in check and to directly influence the work of the Commissars. If any government official no longer values the people over the state than they can be impeached with a direct vote of the people. The state must serve the people and nothing else.
Goals
The Goal of the SRO is to create a local socialist community within the Ozark region of the United States, a historically right-wing area. Creating a supportive community and protesting the United States government are also goals of the state.

The Socialist Republic of Ozark is a proud ally of the People's Republic of Michigan as well as holds ties with the Second Best Union.
