September 11 Incident
The Incident
On September 11, 2021, between 4 and 5 PM, Suttornlandic officials enacted a new rule that Tobanians were not allowed to enter the Suttornlandic military base located nearby without Suttornlandic supervision. The Tobanian King's reaction to this was hostile, and they indicated they would attempt to enter the base. The Suttornlandic King then went home to get a NERF gun from the arsenal, as the Tobanian was already armed. Upon return to the base, it was discovered that the King of Tobania had already entered, and had several NERF guns and a large pine cone stash waiting inside. There was a confrontation, where the Suttornlandic forces demanded immediate surrender, and a short battle ensued. Fortunately for the Suttornlander, the Tobanian King needed to check in at home. However, as the Tobanian forces left the base, there was another fight involving several pine cones being thrown at the Suttornlandic King's back. Note that this was similar to an earlier attack during the Raider War, where the King of Suttornland was shotgunned in the face with about 5 pine cones. The King retaliated, and was shoved onto a picnic table. Tobanian forces left the area. In order to avoid further conflict, Suttornland eradicated the new rule.
Political Repercussions
Since both the Kingdom of Suttornland and Tobania had signed the Treaty of MUNA earlier that year, declaring war on each other was not allowed. Both Kings were well aware of this before the conflict. However, the skirmish was not technically in violation with the treaty because neither nation declared war. Further conflict may ensue if Suttornland attempts to reassert the rule, however, it was deemed important to national security. The situation is currently being considered by the King.
