The Austin Island Senate is the upper house of the Austin Island Congress. There are 26 members of the Senate and all senators are elected to a three-year term, which they can renew as many times at their pleasure. The current majority leader is Donnie D. Listerman, and the president of the Austin Island Senate is the current vice king I. C. Weiner.
History
When the constitution of Austin Island was created, the writers of the Austin Island constitution wanted there to be a king who was elected to a three-year term and they also wanted an upper and a lower body as well. So the house of delegates and senate were born. The senate was proportioned to two senators for each municipality.
