History
The region traces its origins to a micronation founded in 2021 by Jhon Benedick Ganzalao, who combined the name of Russia, his favorite country at the time, with “Ka,” creating the name “Ruzka.” Ganzalao initially invited his friend, Anthony James Fabroa, a fellow geography enthusiast, to join the project. With Ganzalao serving as the first president and Fabroa as vice president, the fledgling nation began to expand, incorporating more friends and neighbors into its structure. Over time, the members were assigned various roles, including senators and military leaders
Ruzka initially operated under a communist ideology, inspired by Ganzalao’s admiration for Russia and the USSR. However, internal disagreements arose, leading to a revolution by five citizens, including Fabroa, who opposed communism and advocated for democracy. Fabroa, a capitalist, and Ganzalao found themselves in conflict, exacerbated by the contemporary geopolitical situation, specifically the 2021 Ukraine-Russia war, with Ganzalao supporting Russia and Fabroa siding with Ukraine.
Over time, Ruzka underwent several ideological shifts. It transformed briefly into a fascist state, modeled after Fascist Germany, which Ganzalao also admired, before reverting to a republic following another revolution led by Fabroa. A period of instability followed, marked by further changes in leadership and political structures, including a brief monarchy under Ganzalao and a brief dictatorship under Kurt Bedrijo.
Eventually, Ruzka re-established itself as a republic. Leadership continued to fluctuate, with multiple presidents, including Andrei G. Larraño, who served until September 2022. After several more political transitions and changes in governance, Ganzalao resumed leadership before stepping back in 2024. In July 2024, Ruzka became part of the Republic of Balzi, marking a new chapter in its history as a region within a larger political entity. Since then, it has continued to operate under the governance framework established by Balzi, enjoying a more stable political environment.
