The Republic of Newstonia, commonly known as Newstonia, is a micronation enclaved by London, United Kingdom. It was formed after the Newstonian Convention, made up of like-minded individuals, declared independence from the United Kingdom on 18 July 2021. The Convention declared itself the Provisional Government a day later, and on 20 July, they ratified the Constitution. It is currently led by President Douglas, who first proposed the idea of Newstonian independence, and headed the short-lived Provisional Government. It is split into four provinces- Sutting, Kitchener, Gard and the Capital State. The country de facto controls around 60 square metres but claims 35 square miles of territory.
Out of its population of 10, 4 of them make up the Cabinet (including Vice President and President), 2 (including a Cabinet member) in the Council of Justices, and 6 (made up of 3 Cabinet members, an independent MP and a Speaker/Cabinet member) in the Parliament. The Convention makes up the Cabinet, and all are from the Conventional Party, the first and dominant political faction in the Parliament of Newstonia. Elections were held on 20 July, just hours after the Constitution was announced. The 3 citizens not in politics elected the Conventional Party into the Parliament, as well as an independent MP, Robespierre. The Speaker is the Minister for Police and Justice, Tom, who is also a Justice ex officio. Due to the small number of government officials, some may have more than one office- for example, Vice President Jim is also Minister of the Bank.
As a new micronation, Newstonia has not established any foreign relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is looking to find other micronations interested in diplomacy with Newstonia.
Etymology
The name of the country, Newstonia has no official meaning or etymology. One theory is that it refers to President Douglas' heritage in Houston- as in, 'New Houston', or 'Newston'. Another is that the country is named after Isaac Newton, who died in Kensington, not far from the claimed territory of Newstonia. Douglas said, in his first press conference as President, that the name 'symbolises the creativity and intelligence of the nation'.

Foreign relations
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a total of 0 diplomatic missions with other micronations. The country does recognise the United Kingdom, but does not recognise the UK as controlling the territory they claim.
Military
Conscription is in place, and the President is Commander in Chief as well as Minister of Defence. The Army has 2 soldiers, one of whom has passed the Officer Academy. The Navy has a fleet of submarines and destroyers and was previously led by Robespierre before he became an MP. It now has no personnel. The Air Force only has a few fighter jets and three helicopters, run by one airman.
Before the Declaration of Independence, Newstonia had a militia, where 9 Newstonians served in the armed forces. Only Sharkie, who would later become the Chief Justice, did not join; he would join it later on. Most of the equipment is from the militia, including the AW-1 (a modified rifle with water as its primary weapon).
