Republic of Cronic

In early April 2021 our grand republic was created out of injustice and the dream of where every common citizen has a chance. Our grand republic declared full secession from the United Kingdom on the 20th June 2022 by the founding father. Our national currency is the Liberty Chip (Ѭ).

After the formation of our Grand Republic, the citizens at the time voted in a man with great wisdom and talent, His name? Prime Minister Joesph Baker who runs the country on behalf of his royal majasty, King Baker I.

Politics

In the "The Great Election" the first two political parties were formed, The National Workers Party (NWP) under Joesph Baker and the oppostion party the United Federation (UNF) under Kyle Mann and in july of 2021 the Independence Party (IP) was formed under Ruby Nottingham. For The National Workers Party "The Great Election" was a landslide with them taking most DVs (District Votes) while the Independence party and the United Federation struggled to gain any DVs. The National Workers Party managed to win the districts of Libbington, Cronica and finally Neuestadt. During the year of 2021, the United Federation would have their ratings plumet due to many scandals they were accused of and the people of the nation began having different views and thoughts about the Party. In November 2021, it was uncovered that the leader of the oppostion, Kyle Mann had not been paying enough tax and was bribing tax payers not to reveal this to the public but when one tax payer didn't get handed his bribe he ran straight to the local newspaper (The Cronican Times) and told everything he knew about his scheme. After this, the MPs passed the Kyle Act which is a list of regulations that prevents any power hugary people from holding office perminatally. One of these regulations prevents anyone from taking a 4th term in office or anything that could extend their time of service to the nation and this is just the beginning. On the 28th of June 2022 The National Qualification Act 2022 was passed in order to provide any citizen with equal job opportunities in the recent session of parliament. Under Article 2, Anyone caught violating this act will be sentenced to a minimum of 3 years in Prison. On the 29th June a new political party was founded, they are known as the Union of Liberals or the UOL and their ratings have already skyrocketed since their policies and ideas are loved by the nation. The Royal Parliament Sessions happen every Monday, Friday and Sunday at 4 pm CRN local time. On the 26th August, the whole cabinet quit their positions out of the blue without handing Prime Minister Joesph Baker a leter of Resgination, The Prime Minister began scrambling to find decent citizens who might be up to the job until the election roles around in late September.

Military

After it's formation in April 2021, The Armed Forces saw a 28% Increase of recruitments as Prime Minister Joesph Baker announced in late April that he had received several threats. The Cronican people saw their whole Liberties and freedoms at stake and signed up in order to ready be ready for a worst and in place there is a 3 year requirement that civilians between the ages of 18-50 have to complete Military Service. There are only 3 Branches in the armed forces at this time, The Royal Navy, The Cronican Air Force and the Cronican Royal Army. We have 5 Troops in each branch not including reserve soilders. Admiral Lucy McGregor has annonced that many navy vessels are under construction and are soon to be complete and become apart of the Home Defense Fleet that will protect trade and national interest within our seas and borders. Before serving far our near for our beloved nation, troops must endure a 2 month basic trainning program to face possible issues in the battlegrounds and at the coast. The most recent Introduction to the Armed Forces is the Office of Intelligence which was introduced due to hostile states threating the national ambitions. Recently, we have seen a slight reduction in troops the ministry of defence is working out why the troops are leaving but it still is unknown why. A 10% Pay rise is being offered to any troops who who were originally planning to leave but was convinced to stay in our nations beloved military.

History

Creation Era (April 2021 - June 2022)

In April during the times of covid19 and political scandals, his royal majesty King Baker I said he dreamed of a nation without political divide and unequal opportunities for the common person, and so Prime Minister Joesph Baker told him to do so and start a micronation. The idea of micronation at the time seemed silly to his majesty and so he thought on but over the several days of thinking he couldn’t think of anything better than a micronation. So on the 12th April 2021, they both sat down and wrote the constitution of our great republic even though the full secession wouldn’t take place until June 2022 it was declared a day of great significance and would go down in Cronican history.

Expansion Era (June 2022 - Ongoing)

After the full secession, it was obvious to most citizens and MPs that the government needed expanding as well as pretty much everything else. Only In late June was the armed forces created, with many citizens jumping at the idea beforehand that when each branch was officially formed many of them signed up right away. Of course towards the end of the month, the sign-ups slowed down and many had turned in their notice to officially quit but the armed forces still strive to this day. Also, there is still an issue concerning a lack of MPs for the opposition party and the Independence Party since most people when they become MPs join the National Workers Party since the other two parties have been know for tax scandals. On the 29th June a new political party was founded, lead by Craig Roberts and they are known as the Union of Liberals or the UOL and their ratings have already skyrocketed since their policies and ideas are loved by the nation. The Minister of economics officially began production of the Liberty Chip on the 1st July, so far the production of the currency has been quite successful. Currently, over 100 Liberty Chips are in circulation within our borders with more in production and quality control. The Nations first museum opened on the 15th July when a historian with a huge passion for history discovered some old British coins that date back over 100 years. On the 18th and 19 July 2022, Cronic saw it's largest heatwave with the highest tempertures reaching up to 38.8 Degrees Celsius this crushed production throughout the two days and an emergency goverment cabinet meeting has been organised to prevent Global Warming and Climate Change. The Cabinet is also coming up with an Extreme Heat Policy that include limited use of waterworks. In the latest session of Parliament (22/7/22) the National Workers Party introduced and passed two new acts, the farming act 2022 and the employment act 2022. These two acts were passed to ensure better benefits for both employees and farmers. Culture

Our Grand Republic has two official languages, one being English and the other being German, we also have a offical religon which would be Roman Catholic since it's the most popular religon inside the nation. We have recently founded our first museum which is known as The Museum of International History and Culture. Also we have our own time zone CRN (which can be calculated by subtracting 2 hours from GMT local time e.g 2pm becomes 12 pm CRN local time)

Also, since many citizens used to be English or German the love of football and the role it plays has been drilled into the Cronican Culture and our nation has it's very own national team and league (the Grand Cronican Football League). There are 5 teams in the national league and they are Libbington City, Libbington United, Workers FC, Troncladion City, Neuestadt. These 5 teams compete for the trophy nicknamed Der Mächtige Fuchs (The mighty fox) and this is how the first season played out (the 21/22 season):

Education

Under The National Qualifications Reform Act 2022, we have seen an unequal school system where only people from certain backgrounds can succeed to seeing an equal school system where everyone from any background can succeed. On top of that, we have completely changed the Grading system, there are now only 5 grades. You can earn the following grades: P+ (Outstanding Pass) , P (Normal Pass) , SP (Slight Pass) , F (Normal Fail) , F+ (Slight Fail). The Royal Parliament has some more basic ideas on the future of education including an introduction of a compulsory exam know as The FOTNEs (or The Future of The Nation Exam). So far, all citizens are fully educated with basic high school achievements.
