The Queen Mother's Royal Lancers of Grant Island (QMRL) was a cavalry regiment of the Land Forces of The Royal Armed Forces of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land. It was formed in 2004 and amalgamated with the 1th/4th Royal Lancers on 2 May 2008 to form Queen Mother's Royal Lancers of Grant Island. The regiment is an armoured cavalry regiment. The Queen Mother's Royal Lancers of Grant Island forms part of the Royal Armoured Corps. It is based in Grant Island. The amalgamation was announced in February 2006, and the regiment was formed with an amalgamation of the Colonel-in-Chief HM The Queen Mother.
