Tremont (tree-mont), officially the Principality of Tremont is a micronation located in Central Virginia, USA which was founded on 27 October 2017. the Principality has a population of 27, 25 of which live in the largest city of Tremonte. The other two citizens live in outer enclave territories of the Principality. the claims of the Kingdom consist of various noncontinuous territory's, counties, and lordships. Currently, there are two counties, and a lordship, all three ruled under the Sovereign. The Principality is surrounded by the United States of America on all sides and around all of its enclaves. the state claims a Unitary Semi-Absolute Monarchy, with the Supreme Sovereign claiming the title of Prince of the James. The state claims control over the entire Street of Tremont, with a small offshoot territory in the western forest, this is being the County of Tremonte. the state also claims 3 enclaves, one being near Laxton road and claiming a house with a large section of the forest behind it forming the County of Laxton-Tomahawk, and an area containing a small island and 5 islets contained in the Lordship of New Providence.

History

Republic of Tremont

In mid-2017, 12-year-old Aiden Batemen formed the Republic of Tremont as a direct democratic state, with the goal to set up a much more efficient and democratic democracy in the United States. Aiden, disliking the authoritarian nature of the United States under the Trump presidency, declared independence from the States via the signing of a new constitution. Claiming the lands of modern day Tremonte, he set up the State of New Providence as the capital land, and claimed control over all land 3 miles bordering the entire James River, including islands off the Chesapeake Coast as well. Not having any way to legitimize this claim, he worked on getting a taxation system up and forming a forestry service, however, he failed to legitimize his nation and gain international micronational backing. The Republic went into a state of isolation, with its economy being completely dependent on the United States and lacking a national export. With only a population of 8 people, due to the majority of people on his street not even knowing the existence of the state, the politics of the nation would stay heavily one-sided, with the Democratic Party controlling all branches of government.

In early 2018, a deal was struck between Aiden and a student at Aiden's middle school named Buddy. Buddy was officially named vice president, while Aiden was made as honorable president, allowing for Buddy and Aiden's friends to join the nation, increasing its population to 13. Buddy’s house, as well as the homes of the other members and the school they went to were all claimed by the Republic after the deal. However, Buddy had goals of making the state more unitary, and most importantly, under his control. A falling out occurred when Buddy got embarrassed by Aiden bringing up the nation in conversation, which prompted Buddy to declare himself Emperor of Tremont the next day and attempt to overthrow Aiden and the Republic. Most of the new members backed Buddy and left the Republic to form the Empire of Lynchburg, but neither the Republic nor the Empire could reach the other's borders, forcing an infinite stalemate. No treaty was ever signed, but the Empire gradually lost steam, with all the members abandoning and Buddy leaving and disbanding the Empire.

Late Republic

With the Republic of Tremont weakened by the conflict, Aiden began to rebuild his nation by getting his family more involved in his project. This would see the survival of the Republic for the time being, but most of its population would either not care, or only sometimes partake in activity. Aiden disbanded the Democratic party, after a change in political opinion, forming the Nationalist party in early March 2018. Being the only person in charge before, Aiden would declare himself supreme ruler of Tremont, but keep the Republic title to keep his legitimacy and support. The Republic slowly fizzled out out as Aiden became less active, but he never fully disbanded the state, working on the project by making war bonds against the Empire of Lynchburg and land grants in an attempt to make money.

Declaration of Principality

In mid summer of 2021, Aiden officially declared the Republic dissolved and decided to form a Principality instead. The prince laid claim to Editon Island and the Providence Archipelago under the Lordship of New Providence on the James river, and a large 36 acre forest east of Laxton under the County of Tomahawk. To bolster international relations and create further alliances with local micronations, Tremont became a member of AUDIMN in mid August 2021. Tremont was the operations manager of AJIA, and lead the investigation of the disappearance of the head of Assemblia. In late September 2021, AUDIMN was disbandment by its head cabinet, which lead to intermittent instability within pro-interventionists within the monarchical cabinet. Only 4 days later on September 29, the leader of Assemblia returned, they having went into isolation and telling nobody, returned and didn't try to get into contact with former AUDIMN members. after former parts of AJIA discovered the returned Assemblian leader, the Monarchy officially dropped all relations with the Assemblic Federation and started a mobilization of the Military Police and Pikeman Guard, with the cabinet and monarchy calling for Assemblia to be banished from the micronational community, and announced there support for Assemblic rebels via monetary support and the sale of weapons to the groups.

Tremont Royal Aeronautics and Space Agency

the Tremonte Royal Aeronautics and Space Agency was formed officially on October 6, 2021 after unanimous vote from the Royal Cabinet and the King. the Agency would be the first agency formed in the Principality, as the Prince and Cabinet saw it as the only real idea that the entire cabinet could agree on and fund. the Agency, called "TRASA" in short, would see a nominal first budget of "$∞", with the Royal Family giving the Agency a fluent budget of the entire Royal Treasury. while not having a Project Head, the King would be placed as acting Project Head until a candidate could be chosen.

while not having any missions as of yet, a few have already been suggested by members of the Cabinet and the Monarch.
