Senerza (Sin-ehhr-zah), officially the Principality of Senerza is a micronation in central Europe lying inside, being landlocked by the Federal Republic of Germany in the State of Saarland inside the town of Neunkirchen, close to the three country corner of Germany, France, and Luxembourg. Senerza currently does not have any other territories except for the homeland region inside Germany. Covering an area of 193 square meter (2,077 sq ft), and has a largely temperate seasonal climate with 4 inhabitants. Senerza was established on June 27, 2012 with a now sold territory in the United States of America in the state of Alabama, called Faraday.
Etymology
Senerza was first to be called "Principality of Eisenerzen," then to "Federation of Eisenerzen", but soon came to realize that they did not want to be known as a country of iron ore, even though the Royal family's last name is Erz. After several weeks, the Royal family decided upon "Principality of Senerza". The Grand Duke, Klaus Erz, agreed with the nations name, and alongside the Ruling Princess, it was declared that the nation will be called that. How they came to this was that principalities where often ruled by a prince, then "Sen" in German somewhat sounds like "sind", which roughly translate to are. Then they added "erz", and an "a" to make the name sound better. So it very roughly could translate itself to "they are Erz" from German to English.
History
Micronations Pre History
The land and house that is now known as the Principality of Senerza, was built in 1905, during the Prussian Empire and now known as a memorial street complex, as a workers' housing built in the first quarter of the 20th century for the workers of the Neunkirchen metallurgical plant. The single-storey, but interior as 3 separate living floors, semidetached building, was built from two-colored bricks. Many of the homes on the Georgtrasse (street) are decorated with elbows and colored bands. The first owner was a family member of the Erz family, known as Kaps.
Modern History
Senerza had declared it's Independence on June 27, 2012. It is landlocked within Germany, in the state of Saarland, in the town of Neunkirchen. Senerza had established the Senerzian Grand Army (SGA), now the Royal Senerzian Army, on the same day unofficially, and the air force under the name of GSAF (Grand Senerzian Air Force) on July 25 unofficially also but was later disestablished. The first constitution had been signed into law on April 17, 2013.
On July 1, 2012, The now revised Senerzian Rights Document #1, outlined the peoples basics rights within the country and signed into law. This document allows people the right to cast their vote, be treated fairly and equally, no death penalty, and ministers will be elected once a year excluding the minister of defense which is only elected by the current Ruler and allows them to interfere with the final outcome of votes as long as 3/4 of the population is satisfied once the action is done, if not, the action must be reversed. This Peoples Rights document had then been revisioned with a better peoples rights document since November 2019 but is now no longer a separate document, instead it is now included within the new constitution of 2020.
On August 26, 2012, The Territory of Faraday was created in the state of Alabama, USA. The land contains a small stream and a forest. Faraday used to house Princess Julia for a total of 5 years. The territory as well was going to be a major launch site for rocket tests, but only 3 separate launches were attempted. The home was sold back to the Unites States in February 2019 and the territory, was offically disestablished in November 2019.
On September 1, 2012, The principality tested its first rocket called the Tropos I. The launch failed after three attempts in hopes of a lift off. The Princess announced later that day that on September 8, another test launch would be done, but this never happened. These rocket tests are done under the program called NAASE (National Agency of Aeronautics and Space Exploration) unoffically established.
On April 17, 2013, The first constitution had been signed into law at 8:30 A.M after two weeks of delay. It was signed by Prince Kilian I (Now Princess Julia, King Klaus I (Now Grand Duke Klaus), and a minister of Civil Issues at the time.
On October 9, 2013, an amendment was put out to the first constitution, Article II, section 1.1 of the constitution saying "No Air Force is required to be active during peacetime or wartime".
On May 11, 2018 The government announced there will be 8 amendments to the constitution coming later that year, since July 25, 2019, it was announced that the whole constitution will be rewritten and improved upon as the first constitution left far too many legislative and rights out and there would be too many changes to the first constitiution and to keep it easy to read and understand, a whole new constitution was written.
On May 13, 2018 the principality joined an alliance organization called League of Micronations (LoMN). A over 65 member state alliance, that is now defunct.
Since April 12 of 2020. The new constitution had been fully completed and signed into law. At 16 pages long.
Government and Politics
The Principality has a constitutional Monarchy government. The nation is currently ruled by one Royal princess, Her Royal Majesty Princess Julia of house Erz, as a principality ruled by one prince or princess at a time. The head of state is the Grand Duke Klaus of house Erz. There is a minister cabinet of three. Minister of Defense, Civil Affairs, and Culture. The positions may only be held by members of nobility while the Minister of Defense position may be held by the Royal ruler of the nation without a vote. Each territory including the homeland, may have one representative each, and other representatives must reside in a territory to represent the people from their residing land. Citizens living outside of the nations lands may still vote for the minister candidiates, and all non residing citizens have one representaitve that does not have to be of nobility to represent non residing citizens of the principality. Elections are to be held every two years for the minister cabinet and representatives (A change in the constitution, as well as others coming in 2022, that ministers term length is 4 years and representatives is 2 years, before needing to be re-elected) on November 15.
Under the new and old defunct consititution, no political parties may exist or form to prevent political polarization. As they are seen to divide people and not let people be open minded. Citizens are allowed to come together and have a discussion, but are not allowed to establish a political party.
Foreign Relations
The Principality was a member state of the League of Micronations that is now defunct, and had two alliances and two other diplomatic relations in the past with other micronations that are now seen as also defunct.
On June 22, 2021, A new diplomatic relationship was created with the Archduchy of Ohřevsko, formed between HRM Princess Julia Erz and Archduke Peter Simon Malček-Ohřevský.
Citizenship
Any person may become a citizen of the principality as long as they meet the moral conditions and a short citzenship test. Currently as of June, 2021, no applicants can be accepted as the website and government forms are under revision.
Military
The armed forces is called the Senerzian Royal Armed Forces (SRAF) since the creation of the new Consititution, and currently only has a cermonial purpose in times of peace. The army is called Royal Senerzian Army (RSA) and is meant to have one unit, the 1st Infantry Company. There is currently no Air Force in establishment.
Geography and Climate
The homeland of Senerza lies at 310 meters above sea level in Western Europe. Landlocked by Saarland, Germany, inside the town of Neunkirchen. To the north-west is the country of Luxembourg at about 61 kilometers away, and to the South lies France at about 20 kilometers away. Senerza covers an area of 193 sq m (2,077 sq ft) with no water area. Senerza has a temperate seasonal climate dominated by westerly winds. There is no consistant dry season in the area with an average of 789mm (31 in) of rain a year. The average daily temperature throughout the year ranges from 0.9 °C in January, to 18 °C average in July.
