The role of Prime Minister was established on 11 April 2022 by Luke of Wellmoore after passing an executive order to rename Crowned Republic of South Formosa to the Commonwealth of South Formosa.

The role of Prime Minister includes:

- Keeping the Governor-General Informed about the Government's Work
- Proposing Legislation to Parliament
- Advising the Governor-General on who to Appoint to Cabinet
Election
The Prime Minister is elected at the digression of the Governor-General by the South Formosan population. Then, based on the results, the Governor-General appoints an electee to become the Prime Minister.
