The President of the Senate is a political position in the State of Hamsterland and serves as the presiding officer of the Hamster Senate, the upper house of Hamsterlands Congress. The President is appointed by the Government and has the power to decide which bills proposed within the Senate that are allowed to be put to a vote within the Chamber, they cannot however prevent bills proposed and accepted by the Chamber from being voted on in the Senate, only delay the vote. The President of the Senate is also a member of the Chief Hamsters Council but not a voting member of the Senate as they are not allowed to be a Senator.
