Fontaineblanche is a principality governed under a semi-constitutional monarchy. Political authority is shared by the monarch (and their cabinet) and the democratically elected Parliament of Fontaineblanche.
The Prince of Fontaineblanche is the head of state and has significant political authority, which, in practice, is not exercised except after a dissolution of parliament (or before the first parliamentary election). The Prime Minister is the head of government and is appointed by the Prince.
Executive branch
The de facto executive branch consists of the monarch and their cabinet.
The monarch has the power to veto acts passed by Parliament, dissolve Parliament, appoint the Princely Cabinet and amend the constitution. In practice, the monarchs powers are generally exercised by the Princely Cabinet.
After a dissolution of Parliament (or, until the 2022 election, before the first election of Parliament), the Prince assumes the powers generally vested in Parliament (or subject to be vested in Parliament).
The monarchs powers are, de jure, not limited.
Legislative branch
The Prince reserves the right to dissolve Parliament or veto an act passed by Parliament.
The Parliament of Fontaineblanche is elected every 2 years by the citizens of the Principality. Parliament has the authority to enact laws, subject to the princely veto (whether by the Prince himself or by the Princely Cabinet)
Judicial branch
The Judiciary of Fontaineblanche consists of the Princely High Court, the Princely Criminal Court and the Princely Civil Court.
The Princely High Court handles legal suits, whether criminal or civil, involving members of the Parliament of Fontaineblanche.
The Princely Criminal Court handles criminal suits.
The Princely Civil Court handles civil suits.
The Prince and the members of the House of Fontaineblanche are immune from prosecution and are out of the jurisdiction of the courts.
Foreign Heads of State, Heads of Government and accredited Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Fontaineblanche are immune from prosecution and are out of the jurisdiction of the courts, unless the Prince (whether directly or through the Princely Cabinet) revokes their immunity.
Districts
Fontaineblanche is divided into four districts; the Offaly district, the Wicklow district, the Tipperary district and the Florida district.
