Oakstead Royal Albian Naval College (ORANC) is a naval academy in the Kingdom of Albia. It is responsible for conducting Initial Officer Training, upon which Officers of the Royal Albian Navy are commissioned upon successful completion. ORANC is the sole officer training centre in Albia.
History
ORANC is the oldest military acadmy in the Kingdom of Albia. It was the first to be established and was founded on 25 June 2022.
Entry
Prospective cadets entrants must meet a minimum requirement. They then proceed to the Admiralty Interview Board which is to assess the candidate to ensure they are fit for naval life and are equipped for training.
If applicants are successful they are enrolled onto a commissioning course and attain the rank of Officer Cadet, which they hold until they graduate the course and become Midshipmen.
Commanders
The college is commanded by a Commanding Officer, who is a commissioned officer typically ranking at Captain - Rear Admiral. The Commanding Officer is assisted by the Academy Warrant Officer and the Instructing Staff. The Instructing Staff are selected from across the navy and are typically experienced Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) ranking at Petty Officer and above.
