Northeast Highlands, officially the Lordship of the Northeast Highlands, is a polity claiming independence as an autonomous sovereign state, or a micronation, located in the Northeatern of the United States. As of late 2023 the Northeast Highlands was reorganized under Novanglia

Etymology

The name Northeast Highlands comes form northern most part of the Appalachians often called the Northeastern Highlands where both Novanglia and Elizabeth are.

History

Early History (2019-2020)

Northeast Highlands or originally know as the United Kingdoms of Albion-Novanglia was formed on February 15, 2019; after the personal union between the Kingdom of Novanglia and the Archduchy of Albion. At the time Albion-Novanglia was a duel monarchy with King Stephen I holding half of the power monarchy has and the other half going to Archduke John. In March of that same year Esmeralda would also agree to join the United Kingdoms. In the 2020 would see disbanded as most of the kingdoms with in the United Kingdoms. Esmeralda side of the realm would become inactive and later soon disbanded and in the late summer Archduke John would become less intrested in miconations and give his half to King Stephen I. King Stephen I not being able to effectively run Albion lands do to being far away would disbanded the nation leaving Novanglia the last kingdom in the United Kingdoms and would soon after making the United Kingdoms of Albion-Novanglia inactive.

Reformed period (2021-present)

However on February 15, 2021 on the 2 year anniversary of the founding of Albion-Novanglia. Talk begin of possible reforming and reactivating the old United Kingdom. And on February 15, 2021 the United Kingdom Reform act was passed. Renaming Albion-Novanglia to the United Kingdom of the Northeast Highlands. In it the Southern most duchy in witch the Prime Minster lives, the Duchy of Elizabeth was turned into a small kingdom and King Stephen was crowned King of Elizabeth. King Stephen then united the two crowns into the United Kingdom of the Northeast Highlands

Geography climate

Northeast Highlands geographyis mostly hilly with thick woodlands, mountains and rivers. Novanglia's climate gets all four season normally in the summer doesnt get past 90 degrees however in the winter temperature can get well below freezing with plenty of precipitation throughout the year. However the weather in Novanglia can change quickly.

Currency

Currency of Northeast Highlands is the Novanglian dollar, the Nova for short which is base upon the US dollar.

Culture

Northeast Highland's culture is a mix of Canadian and New England regional culture. Novanglians are patriotic about the kingdom and military. Novanglian culture is very much heavy influence and big on the military. Many citizen has served or are some way or another part of the military.

Northeast Highlands holidays are observed in commemoration of someone or something, or during an event, such as the beginning of a year. They can also serve are days with paid time off.
