Niederrhein is a micronation located in the South part lower Rhine region between Cologne and Bonn, in Germany. It was first conceptualized on 25 December 2019. As of 30 December 2019 the only territory it has is the balcony of Queen Lily I, which is about 1-2 square meters.
Name
The name of the nation is taken from the physical geographical area it lies in. The name may be translated into English as "Netherrhine"
History
Being only in the concept phase, Niederrhein has had no significant historical events yet. Prior to the conceptualization of this state there have existed attempts to establish an independent Rhineland, none of which have worked out as of yet.
Niederrhein does not seek independence of the whole Rhineland from Germany but territory gain in the Southern Lower Rhine region.
Politics and government
Niederrhein is an absolute monarchy, its monarchy will be in place for 366 days. A referendum will take place before 1 January 2021 to determine the future of Niederrhein's politics.

All laws and verdicts are decided by the Queen until 30 June 2020.

Economy
The proposed currency is the "Ocken" which derives its name from an informal way to say "(unit of) Euros" in the region.
Culture and media
The Bonn Carnival can be observed from Rheinheide. This Carnival is a tradition in the Rhineland. In Niederrhein the carnival call is "Alaaf" (not, for instance, "Helau"). [1]
