New Southland, formally known as the New Republic of Southland, was formed on December 11 by a group of rebels within the Marxist Empire, known as 'New Southland Restorationists.' They formed the nation due to the annexation of the former Republic of New Southland by the Marxist Empire. They aim to reinstate New Southland as an independent nation, rather than a vassal state. The New Republic of Southland claims the land currently controlled by the Vassal State of New Southland, and the Marxist Empire as an extension of that. There are currently small conflicts taking place within New Southland between rebels and soldiers of the Marxist Empire.
Etymology
The name, 'New Southland,' is symbolic of this former nation's youth and power, with most of its citizens apparently willing to die for such a great land.
The flag of New Southland holds many representations of this former nation. The black represents power and uniqueness, and the red represents political strength and intelligence. The white strip in the center of the flag represents the former nation's purity, and the cross is to represent the vast amount of Christians within the nation.
History
On December 11, 2022, the New Republic of Southland declared independence from the Marxist Empire. They were led by a rebel group known as the 'New Southland Restorationists, who wished to reinstate New Southland as an independent nation, after it had been annexed by the Marxist Empire. Immediately, small conflicts took place within New Southland between rebels and soldiers of the Marxist Empire. The Marxist Empire placed their military within New Southland, as conflict continued to take place.
