The Territory of New Greenwich is a Vrylandian external territory located on a small strip of forrested land in Grand Island, Florida. The territory was established on 25 April 2019.
History
New Greenwich was established on 25 April 2019. The land comprising New Greenwich was gifted to Vryland by the United North American Republic as a gesture of friendship.
Invasion
On 29 April New Greenwich was occupied by members of the UNAR. Due to the distance from mainland Vryland the government is unable to retake it, leaving the land under UNAR occupation. On 2 May New Greenwich was returned to the UNAR following their invasion of the territory. It was decided that it should be given back to the UNAR due to difficulties with administering and defending the territory.
Return
Vryland later had the territory returned to them, after the invasion was deemed to be illegal. After the disbandment of Braunland, the remains of the government were transferred to New Greenwich.
Government
New Greenwich is a non-self-governing external territory of Vryland. It is administered directly by the Department of Home Affairs.
Geography and Climate
New Greenwich is located in Grand Island, an unincorporated community in Lake County, Florida.
